Grandy's Doodles
« on: September 16, 2011, 03:57:47 AM »
I won't edit the name to be any more obnoxious anymore.

I recently acquired a scanner (as in, just today) so I thought I'd subject the internet (read: Charas) with the things I'd draw in class instead of studying.

The pictures are in no particular order (othet than the order I'd find them flipping the pages, but since my method of doodling consists of opening a random blank page and doing whatever there, it doexn't mean it's the same order as I drew them.) So don't expect to find an evolution of style more than a style that jumps back and forth.

Also, I tried not to rip them out of my book because the other side is still useable, so they may seem... badly scanned, really.

I'll try to add amusing titles for each picture to keep your interest.

Starting simple and existential (If the text is hard to read, it says "I sometimes wonder about our eternal souls... oh, a bite!")

Saturday Morning

Who's THIS douchebag?

Doooooooodling

The text says: **** this **** I am not finishing this.... or am I? (No. No I wont.)

Ignore the actual bits of studying on the corners. I assure you it does not happen often.

I am Heavy Owl Guy... and THIS... is my owl.

Three floating heads that bear no resemblance to aged forms of any characters existing ever.

I am not even sure what I did write in that left place there.

His name is Rinkku. He will rescue Purincesu Zeruda.

I wasnt sure if I should draw a man or a pikachu. I went with both.

By now you must have already realised half of these are Homestuck fandoodles.

Anyone know that feel?

CG: IMPS. ALWAYS ****ING IMPS. YOU'D THINK THERE WOULD BE SOME SORT OF HIGHER TRUTH TO THIS UNIVERSE THAT DOES NOT INVOLVE FIGHTING IMP AFTER IMP IN THIS ENDLESS GRIND. WELL GUESS WHAT I MADE A UNIVERSE AND NOT THERE IS ****ING NONE

And now he has a cramp in his leg.

Add to the list things I can't drawn: One-handed chainsaws. (other itens on the list are "Hands" and "Everything else in the world")

A random assortment of characters.

Oh good I thought we had run out of Homestuck for a second.

Devon looking at his own blood-soaked hands. Floating heads of Misty, Baron von Nastynose and a dude with sunglasses nonwithstanding.

Go home and be family doods.

And make it double.

....I have rightly no idea.

Kitty!

Kitties and a bard!

Was supposed to be a man flying a steampunk jetpack. You tell me if it is.

Generic flirty girl.

What, did you think I'd forgotten to put more Homestuck? HA!

A random assortment of characters.

This day I forgot my pencil and drawed everything with a pen, unable to erase anything. Here you can see what really goes around my pages before I fix it.

Forgot my pencil part 2

White science!

Later on I remembered Jack Frost looks nothing like that.

With this, I believe I posted all my homestucks. All of them.

And now for the things I am kind of proud of:

Official Grandy Concept Art

Also, remember that time last year when I asked if Grandy should have a pet, which kind of pet he should have, and everyone was like "He should have a bird that he trains to steal things"? Thats his debut right there. It's name is Regis. And well... I kind of tried to base him off of Solid Snake.

Also, Grandy fights the long arms of the Law by using his Long Arms of and Outlaw. I claim it's artistic license and not a mistake.

==>Ascend

It's hard to represent "Land of Light and Rain" in a pencil sketch.

We just meant she's a friend who happens to be a girl, Goggalor.

A naked goddess (no seriously, this drawing turned out to come out looking pretty good and yes she is naked. Click at your own risk.)

I must've spent more time working on that tree than on my final essay for college.

And a very special guest.

Original characters of mine:

Gillains

Devon

This is the only time I managed to get Devon's eyes, smirk, and hair right at the same time. Shame about the legs.

You have a great style going on here, looks pretty darn good. Have you done anything not doodly? Like attempting soemthing big?

Also, that's a sweet grandy picture.

Bluhman! Good special guest.

Nice work.  I like the cartoon network style influences.  They actually kinda work.

Do you do any colouring at all?

I would but I ate all my crayons.

In a more serious tone, I would, but I don't know how to properly in photoshop.

There is no shame in being unable to color in Photoshop.
Heck, I'm an art student and I can't manage to make digital look like it wasn't done by a sugar-high six year old in Paint.
All my shame. All of it.

Anyway, you've got some nice stuff going on here! I'm especially fond of the goddess one, ahaha. Hoping to see more in the future!

I meant to play the darned thing for years, but could never find it.

Then turns out it was on Steam. For a sale!

I just wish the achievements worked.

(Also personaly I liked Goggalor better than Milkman. But to be fair everyone always talked about the Milkman so much, I was expecting a slice of gaming heaven. It probably would have been my fav. level if I hadn't set my expectations so high.)

So, I finnaly got around to scanning every other picture in my notebook I had forgotten. And I'll make you guys suffer through it.

Top left is me trying to draw two great characters in their original artstyle without remembering their faces completely and without reference pictures. Rest of page is me trying to draw them on my own style.

Gillains concept art. (I plan on changing her name sooner or later. Suggestions accepted.)

Sheng Tzu, some of you may recognize him.

This is the only time I managed to get Devon's eyes, smirk, and hair right at the same time. Shame about the legs.

I do like Asterix, even though the last time I read one was a few years ago.
