I've heard that it's terrible!

But I wouldn't know, because I stopped playing the series.

Apparently, Bioware has stated that they're making a new one in response to the overwhelmingly negative response. Ten bucks says they misunderstand why people hate it.

Not making a new one, they said they'll expand on this one.

Oh, bad endings. We're seeing a lot of those these days. Some that makes no sense, some that are really random.

Bioware are going downhill at a rapid rate. I really hope they die out (I'd say I hope they recover but like that's gonna happen) and the few good developers they employ go to better studios.

I'm starting to feel the same way. I mean, they've only made a couple of fuckups, but they've been pretty big ones, and they seem to be on a slippery slope downward, so recovery seems unlikely. I also feel that way about Blizzard, but they still seem to be hugely profitable.

What, you don't like them Pandas? Or Pokémon battle?

But yeah, seems every new games is getting meh. I mean... pretty much every series, when a sequel comes out, a whole lot get negative criticism.
Take Soul Calibur V, for example. They removed so much. Or the new Silent Hill. I mean... I don't think it's bad, but... it's not the same. And creatures aren't as creepy as they used to.
Blizzard and their new WoW expansion or all the changes they brought, Diablo 3 having less grim graphics and such...
Mass Effect 3 apparently having a pretty bad ending. Call of Duty (yeah, I know) Modern Warfare 3 apparently being kind of... bad.
The last Metroid not being so good either (apparently), Final Fantasy... yeah.

Kinda sucks, though. Because somehow, I can't have as much fun playing older games as I used to, so I have to rely on newer one. And well... yeah.

Maybe I'll still try to finally play Mass Effect a bit more, so I can beat the second and hopefully play the third (in like -3 years, at my rate) and get that modified ending or whatever.

Metroid is the only thing you named that I'll bother to clarify: It was made by Team Ninja. Not Nintendo, but the people who make DOA and Ninja Gaiden. It seemed like a horrible match-up, and when it was done, reviewers agreed. Fans agreed. Outliers said it was pretty fun. Metroid isn't dead because of it, but I don't see any further Team Ninja partnerships from here on. Retro did quite well, and I'd like to see them make more, but the Prime series is done, so that will likely remain a dream.

People seem to imply the ending was the only bad thing about ME3. It's definetly not. I'd go as far as to say the gameplay changes were the only (debatably) good thing. The amount of choice you get is hugely reduced, conversations are pretty much cutscenes with the occasional renegade/paragon choice (no middleground). Your plot choices in the previous games are pretty much completely insignificant, despite Bioware insisting they'd have a huge impact. Hell, the choices you make IN MASS EFFECT 3 don't even impact things that much, some of the big stuff has literally no effect on the course of the story whatsoever. And they cut out a big part of backstory exposition, and a whole party member, pre-release, to add it as DLC so they can milk more money. Then insisted it was made post-release despite the lines from the "DLC" being present in the script leaks from months ago. Oh, and the plot is pretty ****ing terrible, too.

I don't like Bioware very much anymore.

I blame EA.
Seriously, it seems to me like all of their problems started after they were bought out.

Final Fantasy... yeah.
I actually liked FF13 better than 12. I haven't played 13-2 yet (not that the sequels count for very much) but as far as I'm concerned, FF's on the up.

While FFXIII could be an upgrade from FFXII, I still see it as a downgrade from FFXI and those before.
