Contests

I'm just curious if anyone would want to have a few contests? I remember one of my favorite things about this forum was the contests that others and myself used to hold. Would anyone object to me posting a few and if not, who would enter? Would prizes be required? I was absent for a long time, so I don't quite know how the prize system works, but I do see some under people's names.

Contests would more than likely be like the old ones I used to host: Make a story that requires a specific object to be of significance in the story, make a story based on a screenshot, make a screenshot based on a story, make the best map possible using a specific chipset and the limitations of the judge, make a sprite, etc.

I specifically remember having a story contest about (I think) a bridge, and moosetroop coming up with an amazing short story. I would love to read more things like that, as well as see other people's creations, both in the form of text or pictures.

Let me know what you guys think. I would like this to get some support. Even though the forums are kinda dead, still seems like 20+ people roam them fairly often.

Go for it, I mean the worst that can happen is not many entries.  I'll certainly do my best to enter.  The last ones you did were pretty fun.

Yeah go for it. I'm always up for contests. It's mostly that I'm not hosting any since I tend to be one of few who makes the deadlines.
It's a shame but thats how it goes when people own wooden computers and internet that breaks and a life to maintain.

I miss them too! I'd certainly join in with the writing ones if nothing else.  The mapping ones were also fun.  Go for it!

It really is not. That having been said, I am not actually against your idea. I was being contrary, because it was an option that was available to me.

You'd probably have an okay but it will probably also take some time before people notice and join them.
