Stomach Problems
« on: November 12, 2012, 02:59:22 AM »
So in early October, I believe a had a stomach virus and it made me vomits and the other thing.  Ever since then, I've been having stomach problems such as gas pains or acid reflux etc.  Could my stomach still be recovering after a month or so or could the virus have damaged something or could it just be something else?

Any ideas or anyone that may have similar problems?

Are you positive your initial infection was a virus? Like, doctors did lab tests positive?

Anyways, sounds like you have GERD. I'm in pharmacy, so I could recommend a lot of **** for you, but more than likely your GERD is caused by yourself (since you are young).

So, some simple things: Don't lay down after eating, stay upright while you sit/watch tv/etc, don't consume too much alcohol, don't take painkillers unless you absolutely need them.

If none of those things look like red flags to you, then it may be your diet. Are you drinking a lot of soda/eating a lot of cheese?

If not that, then it could be a drug interaction from a Rx/OTC med. Do you take antidepressants/BP medications/asthma medications/anti-emetics? Did you just start anything new?

Lastly, have you traveled anywhere recently? Like, a good way away from home.

My mother is a nurse so she just said it was probably that, but there wasn't any hospital tests.

It mostly occurs during the night time and that's when it's at its worst.  I do tend to slouch when I sit because for some reason i need to look close to the screen haha.

This would happen during the past year or two, whether not it's normal I am not sure.  On the left lower side of my stomach I can sometimes feel and hear that *gurrrr* sound and it sometimes twitches.  Also on either side of my lower back ill get an occasional sharp pain that makes me jolt up straight, kind of like a reflex.

I did develop an anxiety disorder after a car accident i was about almost 3 or 4 years ago.  it went away for some time with rare occasions of panic attacks, but it's been bugging me the past 2 months.  The usual trigger is stomach pain or something for some reason, no idea why.

My diet is mostly the same as it's been before the sickness occurred.

So, your symptoms have gone from 1-2 months to 1-2 years now?

Let me explain it better.

My panic disorder was bad for 8 to 10 months after the car accident, then it calmed down for years and happened on rare occasion and now suddenly since the beginning of Oct. it has gotten worse.  The trigger towards the panic attacks is usually stomach pain.

On a side note, could negative feelings towards another person effect my stomach etc.  Like being upset because they don't seem to care even though you did so much crap for them and makin you feel used.  Damn females...

Uh, yeah lol. Stress (any kind) releases a lot of neurotransmitters and chemical messengers. Long term release of these causes several side effects.

Try exercising some and see if that helps. It is a good way to make use of those chemicals messengers.

Razor, have I ever told you that I love you?

Yes. Very many times. So I'm not ashamed to say it again. *takes a knee, pulls out engagement ring*

Razor, will you marry me?

That sounds psychologically healthy.

I hate being used and I am sure a lot of other people are too.

If I feel like I'm being used by you, ****'s gonna go down and we will discuss this.  I am prepared to counter your excuses and lies (if any).  I'm sure all of us hate it when you put in most or all of the effort to keep in touch with somebody and you think to yourself why bother, but then defend them cause that's how much you care for them.

Sure, sure, just saying that yelling isn't really that great of an approach to most situations, that's all.

I'll have to agree with Archem in there. No good will come out of it.

Oh, I've been waiting for so long for this day! Yes, yes, yes!

But uh, just so we're clear, we're cool with polygamy right? Cause there's this one (many) figure(s) I've been keeping an eye on...

Yeah you're right.  Besides, she's too cute to yell at.

Anyways, I didn't sleep at all last night because of constant stomach pain.  Whenever I'd starting falling asleep, my mind would kick in the adrenaline saying "no, your stomach hurts, no sleep for you" like I was in danger.  So damn frustrating!

Peptic ulcer perhaps? It's kinda common. Sounds like you should go see a real doctor though.
