I think our papers are doing something wrong. The are taking advantage of this posted a lot of "movies you should've played" and "the best music since the beginning of earth" And well the obvious fact that they aren't all that clear that this is some american new age mumbojumbo.

Let's see how many people decided to commit suicide and if some new doomsday cult decided to take matters into their own hands. That's the common outcome whenever someone picks a date for doomsday.

The end of the Mayan calender was just a start of a new star cycle.  Some idiot portrayed it as the end of the world and I guess the media took advantage of it and blew it out of proportion and people spent millions because of this instead of doing research on the Mayans themselves.  So all in all, if you believed it it's your own damn fault for not looking into it.
