I'm sure everyone has heard about it by now.  Crazy how something only the size of a bus can cause such a powerful shockwave.  It had the force of a nuclear bomb apparently.

I think that we're living in the future, and it's terrifying.

This stuff is only supposed to happen in sci-fi movies and comics, right?

Sburb will save us...!

But yeah, wow. I'd just assumed we knew when that sort of thing was gonna happen days before it actually hit.

it is extremely hard to notice bus sized meteors b4 they impact, plus theyr rare. theyr also more focused on the ones that could cause massive global destruction. the one that was in russia exploded at about 20 atomic bombs according to news. now imagine the one that recently passed 7000 or 17000 miles passed earth. it was the size of an olympic swimming pool. and the one that landed in mexico 65,000,000 yrs ago was 150 meters i think id have to look it up tho.

wow i was off lol. dinometeor was 10 km. But to know how powerful, lets talk aboutvthe tsar bomba. it exploded in russia at 57 megatons of tnt. now, the dracometeor (pokemon attack) was estimated at 100 teratons, 2 million times more powerful.

Did you really just use an attack from Pokemon to give a sense of scale on how powerful this thing was?

But yeah, Russia has a weird history of meteors exploding in the atmosphere.

At least the next won't hurt as much since dracometeor severely lowers space's special attack.

I agree that is very difficult to predict smaller asteroids like this before they strike. My hope is that in a few decades we will be able to predict events like this before they happen and warn communities about it beforehand, and eventually be able to blow the asteroids out of the sky before they are a threat. Technology is an amazing thing :)

And isn't it great how pokemon can put this all into perspective.

In all seriousness, I feel bad for all the people and families that were affected during this terrible situation...

There's a theory floating around that the pokedex entries are written by the main character, due to them having NO sense of scale whatsoever.
