Rm2k3 user and Japanese student researching the mysterious Japanese RM2K fandom.
« on: April 22, 2013, 06:55:17 AM »
Hi all, I have spent hours upon hours searching this website and various websites in Japanese on my search for graphics. It was interesting discovering viprpg.org and the strange videos I found associated with the viprpg tag on Nico Nico Video...
(VIPRPG dot org is searchable by tags. Sometimes I wish the database here had a similar system)

(tag-inane blabber)
I had found one of the best ways to find RTP graphics in searching is to use the RTP character's "canon" Japanese name! For example, while we know Hero A (male) is called "Alex", how many people know (Female) Hero B's Japanese name? It's Lilia! (Or Riria. Or Liria? Maybe Rilia! Darn Japanese R's! You never know!) She doesn't seem to have a name over here, I guess some people call her Alexa? And she has an evil twin or clone or something (or at least a lookalike) who wears all black and has black hair named Erolia. (Or was it Eloria? Eroria? ...Elolia?) It's not just one game either. It appears to be a whole... "fandom" or something. Sorry, I was just so happy to finally find good character art for Hero B, she's my baby.
(end tag-inane blabber)

I prefer working with the old original RTP's and modding their graphics just a bit. I love finding good battle sprites. Ironically I found so few battle sprites even on Japanese websites. I can't figure out why. I made some decent manipulations and I'll be making requests after I upload my own work and do my part. There was one guy who started one cell on a Roco character for a battle char set, and I went and finished it! I'll definitely upload that. (chara01.png from rtp2 expansion, has red hair and white hairpiece things)

I may also upload some interesting stuff from the Japanese websites that didn't make it over here.
My Japanese is nowhere near perfect, but if you need a Japanese website infiltration and graphics search and download guy, I'm your man.

I'm very anti social in real life and tend to yap a lot... I hope to find a few people to share interests with here. Yoroshiku.

Welcome. I've been to the website you listed above. They have some really nice stuff. Downside is that maybe 10% of their charasets are the sprites in the nude being raped :/

Thanks for the welcome, guys!
@Meiscool: Yes, it's really too bad, first page I saw had some really scary things, but I pushed on and kept going. I had never seen so many varied poses for our RTP heroes before. As long as one can survive the NSFW scary bits, they'll be rewarded.

@Lonewolf: Try this link: http://www.viprpg.org/material/?/tag/ムシャ for some of the RTP Samurai variances.
And here is the tag link for the http://www.viprpg.org/material/?/tag/弟子五郎 black haired swordsman.
I checked both and made sure both searches had nothing gross in them! Just click the image you want to open it so you can save it.

@Lonewolf: How about these chipsets attached to my post? It is actually really hard to find Edo Era Japan sets! Maybe one of these was something you were looking for?

(I really hope I did this all right, I haven't posted to a forum in years)

Edit: One more tag link for you, a samurai female: http://www.viprpg.org/material/?/tag/オトメ. Checked, nothing gross.

Yikes! Double post! But one last thing for you. A kimono girl.
Now I better get out of here before this becomes a request thread!

A new member? After all this time? Finnaly!

Welcome. I myself am almost never here anymore to be quite honest, but I still check from time to time to see how everyone is doing. Nice to see new faces. Watashi mo ninhongo wo benkyo shinde imasu... demo, nihongo ga amari wakarimasen. As such, I won't be destroying that language any further.

Also I'm not sure I know who Momeka is either. Hello you too!

Ah, Darkfox, it's been a while man.

*someone whispers in ear*

Ah, wait, Red Giant, man it's been a while.

*ear whispered, frowns*

What in seven hells is a red fox?

j/k welcome back man. woman. fox.
