Get the original one, there's just no convenient way to put the XL in your pocket.

I think I'll either get the XL (who really cares about pockets these days anyway?) or wait for another version with better battery life. The rather un-compact size is the only reason I have against getting an XL, but that directly conflicts with the desire for a larger screen, so I have a bit of a quandary. If the standard size gets a nice battery boost (and more importantly, a second circle pad built-in), then I'll completely abandon the idea of buying an XL.

Also, I agree. The Original 3DS can be carried around rather comfortably in your pocket. The XL you need a bag in the same manner you would a tablet.
