Also this ain't a pic of me but rather a frozen lake nearby, people are using the opportunity to walk across mentioned lake to save a 45min drive. The thing at the bottom is what would be called a beach. If it wasn't covered in ice that is.
And you can see the moon up there.

I'm with you. Then again, the most freeze I've ever had resulted in a paper-thin ice layer over a small pool of water. I'm sure you've rarely seen more than that.

What happens if the ice breaks and they fall down? I'd rather drive! Crazy Swedish people.

This happened this winter... and probably still happen every single winter, wherever lakes froze.
What happens is... well, usually, you die. Like... death. Deceased. Kaput. Mort.
Which is why, personally, I'd rather take the long way. I mean... what's 45 minutes if it can save my life?

Went to eat ice cream with Natako at Dairy Queen Sunday. Had been so long I didn't have a Blizzard. Those are so good... and unobtainable during winter. I love spring.

It doesn't , we have one of those plow trucks ploughing away the snow on top of the ice so that people can skate and stuff. And that's like a ton of weight at least. The lake is pretty much frozen solid a couple of meters down. It's like a lid or something, only warm water remains near the bottom where fish can live. And of course, weaker ice where it is shallow. That's the real hazard.

Anyway, never thread ice unless you have one of those icepicks thingies and a rope. Rope if someone falls in and the picks so that you can drag yourself up. And when pulling yourself up, make yourself as wide as possible to inflict as little physical stress as possible to the weak ice around where you fell in. You kinda learn these things when there's 5 months of snow a year.

We get, maybe, three or four really good snowy days a year. Some areas it's more, but I tend to seize the chance to run and jump in the snow when I can.
