Alright, sorry guys, but I'm done. Tamo, if you still need that ship map, then I'll give you the same one that I gave link, because serano made that as an all for all map. Anyway, I'm done with taking map requests. Sorry, but I'm just tired of spending time on something that you could do, but just won't try. Notice, Insane JP and wildguy were able to manage making their maps. What if I was here, and actually did make them, and then I got that response. I wouldn't have been too happy. You guys are fully capable of making these maps, but you just don't want to take the time and effort to try. That's how I see it. All the requests that I've seen here are "Can you make me this world map? Can you make me a gigantic town. Can you make me a castle with 20 + rooms?" All of those are large, and this is what I get from that. "Hmm, I have to make this really large map for my game, and it's completely vital to it. But I know it will take a long time, and it won't be fun at all. Hey, I know! I'll just go to the map makers and ask them to do it! *goes to request without even attempting to try the map*" Tons of people have told me "Wow, I wish I had map making skills like you do." When there's really no skill to it. I mean, the chipset is there for you. It's not like you really have to make it yourself. It's not like a battle char, where you actually DO need spriting skills to make it. Because nothing is really there for you. You have to do everything from scratch. A map however, is just a matter of playing around with the chipset, and seeing how things go together. It's pretty much a puzzle. Sure, it might take some time. I just spent about 10 hours making a map yesterday, and 3 hours of that was just getting the feel of the chipset and seeing how it works. I never used that chipset before, and I had to make a huge map. But I did it. Yeah, it took time, but I accomplished it. Anyway, the point is, I'm not taking requests anymore. Yeah, you can pretty much say that I'm out of the team. Sorry guys, but I'm through. And with that, I wish you all good luck in your map making, and good luck to the couple of people (if any) still in the team.

All right, that's cool. I'll take it, and I'll probably be able to use it. Thanks...umm...just so you know, I make all my maps myself, even my castles. Most of the time, I use the dungeon generator, but there has been a couple rare occurences where I made everything (AKA Tenari's Tower, the world map, Dracolich Cavern, and all the towns in JOH: CoC). Now, I'm not saying you were talking to me, but you did give me a good idea. One must always "feel" the chipset before one tries to make with it. That's how I was able to make my towns.

I have no idea what that has to do with anything, I just figured I'd say it...I'm sure it has something to do with the whole chipset thing...ANYWAY, thanks, I'll try to use the ship. Also, from what I see, it was only you and 1 other member. The other member has stopped coming, so I suspect there is no one here anymore.

Okay I need two maps
« Reply #182 on: June 14, 2005, 03:07:41 AM »
The two maps I would like is a first floor castle. The castle should include a libary, the King and queens room, kitchen, meeting room(where they discuss plans and straitgies) And another romm that's large and used when speeches are made. You can use the default inner map for this.(should be included with the program)

The world map should have 8 large castles forming a circle around an even larger city in the center of that with roads leading to it. Each city should have 5 smaller towns lying near the cities. Their's a part of an ocean on the northwest corner it should be large and some Islands in it. 6 of those Islands should include towns and another should have a small castle with woods surrounding it with 1 road leading towards the shore from it.
Their should be a large forest south of the ocean. It should have a road leading into it. The forest should have some towers sticking out from it. Their should be 5 moutain ranges. One south of the woods. Another on an Island, the third inbetween two of the surronding cities, the forth should be west of the center city, the fifth, left of the ocean and sixth cutting off the road from the north to the center city. Here's the chipset I would like you use.

ultimate challenge. I really really want the FF1 world map remade.

no need for the same scale or detail... just the basic idea and shape... thought the location of all the cities and forests would have to be the same.

heres a copy of the origional.

I doubt this team is even alive anymore. After I quit, it seems everyone else did as well. Oh well, I'll probably have this thread locked.
