I hate to be a spoilsport, but I think someone from Charas is sending spam mail.

Other Charas members' names have been showing up in my email inbox recently, but -- the last straw this PM was one from the address of our beloved founder.  I would recognize his mail, which this isn't, it's someone using his address book to send out spam..

I changed email addresses to stop this problem and it has continued, the new address is getting tons of spam as well.

It has to stop.  Something has to be done about this.

Nah, it isn't someone on charas. It's spambots that find e-mail adresses, they're pretty clever.
For example, they'll find an adress from charas, send spam and pretend that it was sent from another adress on charas to make it more believable.

Except MY address is being used...
I had nasty e-mails from another Charas member(no names mentioned) telling me not to send him viruses...
It was from 'Masterdale' which was my old 'net name and the e-mail address is exactly the same...
I think there are some very sad people in the world for them to do these things...

Only one thing to do. Find from which site the spam runs, contact the webmasters, and if nothing happens, spam that website until they secure it, or until spam gets removed.

That is disturbing.

Obviously the best thing to do is simply delete it if it looks fishy. I cannot imagine anyone on Charas actaully bothering to send a bunch of nasty spam emails.

Why would someone take time out of their day, to go and spam people saying things like "STOP SENDING ME NASTY EMAILS!!" or a classic "Your Xanga Subscription has been approved"

I mean...WHAT THE HECK IS XANGA?!Fricking annoying spam.Its almost as annoying as the FOOD spam.

Actually I constantly recieves spam mails from some @ss who's here from Charas. Since he's a newb here and never posts here I'll reviel his name: AJP. It could be someone else but I doubt it. But it's probably just 'cuz he's got a virus or something.
I got a spam mail from Red once too so it's a common prob.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't him. Spambots do things like that. They pretend to be what they are not. It's likely that no-one in charas is doing this.

Yeah, no-one in Charas would send spam mail, well hopefully anyway....
