Well I used to have an Atari and alot of its games. But my personal opinion is that NES had the first great games of all time.
Yes, Atari and those others had good games but they were all games you can play in the arcade now and the are "classics".
But Atari had Pong-Asteroids-Jungle leap-Tetris and all of those other "old skool" games. NES came along with Ninja Gaiden-The Mario Series-Ninja Turtles-Batman-Pinball-Home Alone 1&2-Final Fantasy- Final Fantasy 1-6- Final Fantasy Mystical Quest-Plus all of the "old skool" games on Atari. So in my conclusion, NES really Blasted good home gaming off.

I bet I'm forgetting tons.  N64 is by far the greatest.  But don't get me wrong.  Gamecube and X-Box are great systems!  They're just nothing compared to N64, and actually, SNES is better than Gamecube and X-Box.  I'm still playing my DKC2 on SNES.  That was the greatest Donkey Kong game ever.  I've beaten it many times before, but I'm goin' through it again!  It never gets old!  But still, Ocarina of Time was my favorite game EVER so far.  I hope Zelda 2005 can bring me as much enjoyment as OoT did.

I didn't know what answer to put down, until that swayed me.

I'd reeeally like a port of SFX64 to GCN. I couldn't put that game down! My high score is 1524. And OOT was roxor!

Me too!  That would be awesome!  I'd also like a remake of SMRPG: Legend of the 7 stars on either GBA or NDS, but we can't always get what we want :(.

SNES forever! What other console has brought us so many 2D sprite RPGs like Final Fantasy and Chrono Trigger? (I suppose the PSX has... But that doesn't count!)  :bend:

I think I speak for the majority when I say you cannot choose a best console, all consoles have their advantages and disadvantages, it's impossible to decide between SNES and Mega Drive (Genesis) let alone most consoles out there!
You can't expect people to just say, 'This console was the best because ...' it just doesn't happen!  To select a best console is impossible!

hmmm tough choice with out pc up there, i choose gamecube, just as i did when i had the choice between gc ps2 and x-box. even though i bought a ps2 recently, i just think that gamecube has familiarity in its games, as well as great graphics (most games excluding animal crossing) great playability (animal crossing) tons of reply value (supersmash bro's) awsome music (PAPER MARIO 2!!!!) the rpg's that are orriginal on it, are usually very high quallity (Tos and PM2) they dont try to charge you $20 bucks for a frigen memory card... (PS2 does though...) 4 player! the best non online multiplayer games out there!!!

x-box- meh.... dont like any of the games....

Ps2- i have one, great thing, to bad i bought it the day before the new skinny modle came out... great rpgs, thats about it though..

PSP vs DS
« Reply #38 on: December 23, 2004, 02:47:19 PM »
I don't think either can win.  They're aimed at different markets!  The PSP is flahier and has a higher price tag and as such is a portable all-in-one entertinment system.
Meanwhile the more affordable DS focuses on games and innovation in games.  That's why it has a pen and two screens!  It's trying to do something new while the PSP sticks to it's guns so they won't have to clash!

Well, besides the PC, which is the ulitmate form of gaming, for me its a toss up between the PS2, XBOX and the SNES.

I think that XBOX is the superior machine to the others, but I don't have a DVD remote. :(
PS2 comes second in the race of superior-ism, but it comes DVD playing ready.
The SNES was simply awesome and has stood the test of time. I'm still very much entertained by playing Super Punch Out and the Donkey Kong series.

At the end of all that, I suppose I'd have to choose the XBOX, although nothing beats a maxxed out PC for high quality gaming.  :bend:

I doubt that. Some kid wants a good handheld, he has to pick.

Don't tell people what to do, you Nintendo fanboy, you.  :badboy:

But seriously, I'd probably reccommend the DS. ;)

The battery time is a pretty big problem for Sony. No doubt they will bring out an expensive accessory to enhance the battery power.

When I first read about the DS, it sounded gimicky, but now it seems that it may very well be the superior little machine besides the graphics. But hey, if you really cared about cutting edge graphics, you'd go out and upgrade your computer every week, right?
