The San Andreas Myths
« on: December 23, 2004, 08:49:01 AM »
San Andreas, the already legendary game is so successful, it has already spawned it's own myths!
1. Bigfoot- Can be found around Mount Chilliad apparently.  No conclusive evidence as of yet, but apparently you can se him in one of the photos at CJ's house.  Upon examination, I concluded it was probably a house in the distance with the lights on, although I could see how it was confused.

2. CJ's Mum's Ghost- Supposedly apears in the Johnson House at exactly 0:04.  Hasn't worked for me yet.

3. Ghost Cars- In the Back o' Beyond, empty shells of Glendales are supposed to drive themselves around.  Haven't seen any myself, although my brother swears he saw one go past the Cluckin' Bell near Grove Street.  Then again, it was something my brother said!

4. Sea Monsters- Very vague this one.  Sharks are a possibility, but they're not talking sharks, they're talking along the lines of the Loch Ness Monster!  No evidence.

5. Mystery Phone Box- Supposedly appears in the desert at night and starts ringing.  No evidence.

6. Aliens- True, lights can be seen in the sky, but these are probably just the jet planes that go around San Andreas.  Apparently, not only can you see UFOs, but they land near the quarry!  No conclusive evidence.

7. Leather Face (aka. Johnny Cash (Manhunt)/ Freddy Creuger/ Slim Shady)- Yes, apparently in the woods is a maniac with a chainsaw who has had numerous descriptions, including the main character of Manhunt, Johnny Cash, Freddy Creuger of Nightmare on Elm Street fame and a guy in a mask, possibly rapper Slim Shady.

These are very likely to be talked up hype.  However, Rockstar do like their suprises.  Remeber how long it took to find the man with concrete shoes in the waters of Vice City?  Not to mention the giant easter egg with the phrase 'This is not an easter egg, go away!'
If anyone finds conclusive evidence, let me know!

I know the ghosts driving cars one is true. In the back 'o beyond, you can find many trashed Glendales, which drive around on very rare occasions. I saw one of 'em drive for a little while then just stop. So I stole the car..lol.
San Andreas has a lot of easter eggs in it. Try going into a 24-7 store and browsing the shelves, I found some beer called 'Pissh'...lol.
The other 6 myths sound quite interesting, I'm gonna have a look for 'em after.

I already checked for the ghost of CJ's Mum and I'll take a look around the Back o' Beyond if you've found some empty Glendales!
But, erm, 'your' Glendales?  You have to trash some first?  Wow, I should find hundreds then!  :D

Naah, that was a typo I just realised I had done...lol!
'My' should have been 'many'(it's been changed to many now). lol

About CJ's mom's ghost, does her ghost exist? 'Cause her ghost didn't appear for me. I tried and I tried...
I've also tried looking for bigfoot on Mount Chiliad, but no prevail. Well, mainly 'cause I repeatedly fell from the mountainside on my motorbike and splatted.
I also tried that sea monster one, but still *sighs* no prevail. These easter eggs sure are hard to find...

The Title Does Say Myths

Some of them may be true, others may not.  Like I say, if you find evidence, let us know.

Okay, I re-checked the Back 'o' Beyond beyond one, and that is definately true. Drive around there between about 22:00 and 02:00, and if you're lucky, you may see a trashed up Glendale moving.
I was driving through and noticed a trashed-up Glendale driving down a small hill, and then it crashed. Those ghosts are such bad drivers...lol.

Something about the 24-7 store thing, I found an ice-cream bar called 'Dump'.

And try looking at the sky at night (it must be clear and starry), you can see a star constellation (however it's spelt) of the Rockstar symbol. The R should be made up of stars and the star in the symbol should be a very bright star.

I have something I want people to check, because I'm not sure yet. If anyone has heard of the Northstar Rock (Rockstar North reversed), then I want someone to take a look at something. If you don't know where it is, go on the in-game map and guide the cursor north of CJ's house, you should get to an area called North Rock. Go to the round gray area there. It should be a large rounded rock, which a flat top(or nearly flat).

Anyway, there are many clusters of Rocks on this large rock, and I can't help to think that the rocks move places, because when I left the area that the large rock was in, and returned, Rocks were missing form it's top and were halfway down it's side!
Can someone check this out for me 'cause I'm pretty sure I wasn't imagining things! I just want feedback from others, to see if I am the only one experiencing this!

The Pissh one could be a parody on I believe a French water brand called "Pschitt", which they actually wanted to release in other countries, but I think didn't because the combination ps would be pronounced as s.

About the UFO myth, I have tried looking around the quarry(in the desert), but nothing appeared. But, if you go into a place called 'Lil' Probe Inn', you can find pictures and crap, that have something to do with UFO sightings. And theres even a map of the desert area with markings which I believe are to be the locations of UFO sightings. This UFO thing could be a possiblity, in my opinion.
