Dragon World Demo

[DragonBlaze]

Yay, I have an updated version of my dragon world demo. These are the new things I have added since the last demo. Technically it dosn't go much further than the last demo, but I did add a bunch of new scenes, extended scenes, and I gave a little hint to how the story will unfold later on in the game. And most importantly I added a new cbs, and you get to battle with 2 of the 3 characters in it.

Note: I tested this extensivly, but I'm guessing there were some glitches I missed, if you find one, please inform me so I can fix them

Note: I'm not posting too much info on the story. This game will only be about 6 hours long completed (more if you do the side quests and such). Thus posting more info on the story and background would give away some stuff (spoliers) that I don't want people to know untill they actually play that game.

Background info: You are one of four "dragon sword masters" (I'll just say DSM for short). They're basically just what the tiltle sugests, dragons who fight with swords. The swords they use are forged by there very soul, and thus they are connected to it forever, even after death. These swords are known simply as "soulblades".

Story: Seven years ago, a dark dragon known as Zersevick (who is actually yellow), leads the DSMs into a forest to attack a group of humans, for no other reasons than just because he thinks they are inferior. Even though you don't think its right, you follow blindly, untill at last you can't take it anymore. You stand against Zersevick and the other two DSMs, and it leads to a battle. You fight your hardest but alas left lying on the ground in a pile of blood uncouncious.

You wake up a few days later to find your sword is gone, and thus your spirit is gone as well. Giving up on life you return to your home hoping to be executed, but instead your made to fight. The massicre didn't go to well with the humans, and needless to say it led to war.

Now seven years later you're on a mission to take a near by town. Will the sight of innocent blood spilt recindle your feeling for standing up against the DSMs once again? But even if you do, will the humans even exept your help? Join DragonBlaze on his quest to find his place in the world, and his journy to regain his soul.


I know the story seems relitivly simple, and thats because it is. Since this game will only be around 4 - 6 hours long when its done, I can't make is as complex as a full legnth game. However throughout the whole game your learning more about yourself and the event that happened 7 years ago, then you're stuck between two worlds (dragons and humans) and you have to decide what is the right thing to do. I also have a lot of character developement. I'm hoping that will more than make up for the simple story line.


Characters:

DragonBlaze - Soul Element - Fire. DragonBlaze is only a nickname that your character goes by. After he lost his soulblade, he felt as though he died, and cast off his real name. Besides loosing his blade in that battle, he also lost his wings, and lost most of his power, which makes things a lot more difficult for him thoughout the game. At the begining of the game, you don't know much about him, but as the game progresses, you unviel many secrets.


Kyruto - Soul Element - Ice. He is the lone survivor of the incident 7 years ago. Since then he has been living in a deep underground cavern in the cave where the dragons live. His reasons for living there are virtually unkown, exept for the fact that he is afraid of society, again, for reasons unknown. He and DragonBlaze have become close friends in the time they have known each other.

Yara: - Soul Element - Lightning. She is one of the most skilled Dragon Slayer's in the world. She is very honest and nobel to other humans, but when it comes to dragons she is sly and ruthless. She takes great pride in what she dose, and will continue to do her job untill it is finished - which is to kill DragonBlaze. Will she ever realize that the two of them are fighting for the same thing?


Zersevick - Soul Element - Darkness. Even though he is yellow, he is refered to as the dark dragon. Reason being is his soul element that is reflected through his sword. He believes that dragons are superiour to humans and is determained to kill or enslave them all. His other motives are unknown at the time. And simply by being the leader of the DMSs, the Keckshio and Valere (the other two DMSs) follow him blindly like DragonBlaze used to.

Hi this is my first time here (cause i'm a newbie) , but I downloaded your game and its AWSOME Man I can't wait for the real version. (All that talking means that this is an AWSOME game and keep up the AWSOME work)

How did you do the voices?

I used a computer microphone and recorded em. I did the voice of dragonblaze and drenrin2120 did the voice of Kyruto. Those two characters are the only peeps with voices in this demo

I also modified them a bit with a wav modifier to give them a bit of a echo effect and to edit out most of the static.


 

And how do you do screenshots?

When you play your game, get to the spot where you want to take the screenshot, then press the PrtScrn button. Go into paint (or another image program) and select paste (under the edit toolbar). That should be all

Yeah, but I don't like releasing games to just beta testers. Since I have dial up, it takes forever for my to download  anything, and twice as long to upload it. If my beta testers find a problem, I don't want to work on it and upload a new demo a few days later becuase it takes way too long   . So basically anyone who gives me any advice or reports any bugs is a beta tester. And if you give feedback, and would like to be recognized as a beta tester, just let me know and I can add them too the creadits. Its fun adding peeps names to the credits, it makes the game look more 'professional'. Well maby not... but close enough  :p

ok man i love the game and i was wondering what you used for the intro too cuz its great.....but there was one thing! i got stuck! im not talkin about where to go....for some reason when i was on the mine cart aka dragonblaze just walkin a track lol after i fought that "person" not giving it away it kept going until the next map you know where it speeds up? then it kept going until he hit the water and then i was stuck! i couldnt move at all other then that i like it and what did you use for the intro?

Hmm, to fix that error with the mining cart, just don't hold down the shift key as your entering the cart. I made the dashing script after I made the mines, and I forgot to adjust it to the walking speed if the dash is on. Otherwise the cart will move faster than its suppose to, and a glitch like that may happen.

wow, dude this is probably one of the greatest rm2k made games I've ever played. One thing though. And it might be me, but the lag is horrible! Horrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I guess I can go through the whole thing . For the background that was just a panorama that I edited. I used the \c

• to make the text white, then I put a \. between each letter to slow the message speed down. The music was just an Mp3 soundtrack. Then where it says, DragonBlaze Presents, that was a movie scene I made in windows movie maker from a sunburst I made in psp, and dbs large sprite I made. The part were it says 'DragonWorld', that was just a pic of the title screen that I faded in and out. Then the last part were it gives credit to all the voice actors, that was just another image I made in psp and faded in and out.

wow, dude this is probably one of the greatest rm2k made games I've ever played. One thing though. And it might be me, but the lag is horrible! Horrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry bout that, I can't fix lags on my computer since I don't experiance them, but I will do my best to get eliminate them. So far I know that the battle system lags on some computers, and that megatown lags on some as well. I'll try to work them out
