HELP!!
« Reply #2 on: December 18, 2005, 12:15:15 PM »
I deleted my rpg maker because I messed up my rtp, and every time I started a new game I need to upload the hole rtp.
Now I can't find the site where I downloaded rpg maker 2003. :(

Umm.. why not just download some stuff off of charas? People will like your game better if you use as little RTP as possible.

If I remember correctly, Darkflood, the RTP is needed to run RPGMaker.

Don't worry braveheart. I'll email it to you.

You again? Anit you the guy that likes to kick old request threads and had a two page topic about a game you didn't know anything about that you were making and that you wanted everyone to do everything for you? Then, when people said that you shouldn't show us your game if you don't even have one you cried and said you'd never come back here again?

You know what that makes you? A bloodly liar.

Bad games are annoying, and there's no game to even speak of.
I agree with Meiscool.
He's so dumb that he can't find another RPG Maker download?
No reason to defend him.

I thought this forum was to HELP others with their games. Not to mention that it isn't easy to find an RM2K3 download. And also, who has made their first game good? If you have a good story, keep it until you get good with programming. You two need to chill.

Right, so, dear BraveHearty, Here's a few tips from me:

Before you go in and make a game thread, make at least a demo. Also, include screenshots.

If you have a demo available right off the bat, you can find your game thread being much more popular with people. You'll also want to include a few screenshots to show people how the game looks. Not only does it provide pretty things to look at, but it gives other people something to judge your game by without having to download the actual game.

Draft your story.

Now hold on, youngin': before you go rushing into the RpgMaker, Draft your story in Microsoft word or something. If you don't have that, then use WordPerfect, and if that doesn't work, use WordPad. Type down what might happen in the story, and before you even begin typing, you could take a good gander at our tutorials section to help figure out a storyline.

Don't release your VERY first game.

The very first game you make should be a short adventure that helps you figure out how the RM works. This game should NOT be released to the public, unless you find it getting very good.

Listen to SOME members, Don't listen to others.

Well, Brave, some members are intent on helping others. Other members are intent on crushing your hopes and dreams! Don't allow the second type to get through to you. Some are harsh critics, other's aren't. Only listen to what they have to say if they can give a reason to their judgement of your game.

Good criticism examples:

"Your game is very good because *Reason*"
"Good game, but you might want to look out for your *Problem*"
"Not a good game at all. Improve your *Graphics/Sound/ETC* by *Procedure*"

Bad criticism:

"Your game sucks!"
"That game was great!!!"

So you're probabily wondering what's so bad about someone saying your game is just "Great"? Well, they don't tell you why it's so great!

Become Self-sufficient

Well, We aren't your parents. You can't always turn to us for resources and programming help all the time, and sometimes you have to just do it yourself! If you are intent on obtaining the assistance of other members, though, become more familiar with the people here on this forum! Make some friends here!

Now, with that said, I am now going to shut up. My last suggestion to you is to delete this thread and copy this post into wordpad or something.

Me. My first game is Pact, and it's pretty good.

Also bluhman, he said he doesn't even have a map yet. 3 year-olds can finger paint befor showing there parents what they drew, so he can map before showing us his game. Easy as that.
