Are you sure you saved it in the right format? I would head over to that folder to check.

what i find is the best way to get your resources into the game is to do the following:
open up a file you already have in the format you want (characterset, battle characterset, etc...) now, when you bring up the page to save your set, right-click and copy the resource. paste it into the file you already have open. do a little transparency-tweaking and save the file as a 256 color bitmap, but put a .png at the end of the filename. MAKE SURE YOU SAVE IT AS A DIFFERENT FILENAME IF YOU WANT TO KEEP THE ORIGINAL FILE! i made this mistake my first time, and i ended up deleting a file i liked alot. anyway, this system is pretty much fool-proof, since the file you copied it to is already in the 256 color format. i usually save as a bitmap anyway to insure that i can use it.
