You do realize that almost NOTHING is Original any more? Just about everything is copied off of something else, and if it isn't, it's a rare, once in a thousand year occurrence...

Yeah, alot of games are, in some way, unoriginal, but that's not the point. The difference is the "Number" of cliches. You don't have to have a 100 percent new idea that no one's ever thought of, just try to make it as less cliche as possible.

If you need help on what to try to avoid, then googling "List of RPG Cliches". That would be a good start.

Take the list with a grain of salt though. It starts out strong but starts getting into bitching about specific games for specific scenes they think are slightly unrealistic. But it's generally more good stuff than it it is bad.

Sometimes game cliches can actually work in the game's favor. Tales of Symphonia is one of the best examples of this I have ever seen. The game starts out EXTREMELY cliche - vague, poorly-defined evil forces with no motives are threatening the world, but they can be beaten if you visit temples and release power, blah blah blah. At the beginning I was seriously wondering why I spent money on the game. Very quicky though it becomes obvious there's more going on that is cut and dry, and at roughly the 1/3 point of the game the plot just explodes in an awesome and unexpected direction that I won't say here if you haven't played it cuz it's worth a look.

Point is, it's okay for your game to CONTAIN cliche as long as its NOT ITSELF one big cliche. Like I said, every game has crystals of power or something similar, but not every game has the same boring plot twists involving them.

Fallout has no crystals of power, but so true not all cliches can be avioded. I liked FF5 which is pretty cliche. Teh Butz personality made up for a lot of that.

I can't see the screenshots from school, but it still seems pretty good. Storyline seems basic, put a few twists during the game and you're in business.
I can't wait to play it.
