Adding a new Chipset in RMXP...
« on: November 15, 2005, 01:46:03 PM »
I'm sorry if this question has been asked before, but I didn't have the time for looking through 30 pages.
I'm not using RMXP for a long time, and I didn't really read (or even only find) a real description of how to add new Tilesets. I would be really happy if someone could help me because nobody else did.

Well, I'm not sure about RMXP, but in the Tileset section of the Database, look for an "Increase Array Size" button, or something similar. When you click it, a window should pop up with a number; just increase the number, and that'll increase how many max tilesets you can have.
Again, I don't work with RMXP, so I don't know how it works.

Yes, simply the array size is the one to click.  :p

Thanks, I really nearly gave it up. But now I've got another problem: now that i've got a new tileset, how do I make RMXP show all the tiles from the graphic, and not only half as many as there are?? I hope, one day I'm able to help you to. I myself spend much time on ripping graphics out of Gameboy-Advance-Games, so I really didn't have time for reading through 30 pages.

I use RMXP but I've never had that problem myself.

I always add whatever graphics I need onto a large tileset and then you can have much bigger ones than you find with the original RTP.

The only problem with this is it can be fairly time consuming because you have to place down the graphics onto the tileset, open the tileset in RMXP and then test it to see if the graphics are positioned right so they fit in the game.

I've included a large tileset template onto the attachment, so if you want to use this, you can add many things onto it. Hope it helps.
