I've managed to get help in some parts. The big problems I had to overcome wasn't making it look right; it was having to make each every single script compatible to each other.

I have a theory: If someone already did something you want to use, and they allow to use it, why not use it? The whole do it yourself things is almost ludicrous. I understand that self-made can make you feel better and in terms is best for tighting up your skills, however companies bring programmers together so they can share/create something, all whilst in supervision. I say it's almost the same process as if I use someone's script and revise it, and modify it to make it my own. I have done this with over 20 scripts and achieved very impressive results. I am all for original scratch-made stuff, as an artist i support it ten fold. As an  intermediate scripter only at the moment I am able to modify extensively, but there's nothing wrong with that. Specially if I am achieving the result I wanted or more.

Of course this is all non-commercially speaking.

Besides I already did ABSes and  CMSes from scratch by myself.
I completely understand what you're saying.  I've made games with teams of programmers, and it's obviously a lot more effective when multiple people work on one project.

However, when I'm using RPG Maker, I don't really want that sort of set-up.  I ENJOY using RPG Maker, especially making battle systems or menu systems.  For me, it's more a case of not letting other people do the fun parts! xP

I've tried Game Maker and it is confusing to the point of frustration, to me, so can anyone help me figure out how to make even a simple game? I have an idea for a game, but i want to get the basics down first so any help would be grateful!
