Hey everybody, most of you probably don't know me because I usually come here and talk about stuff with no relevance to anything.  But today is different.  My friend Tom (known on charas as goatulon) is in trouble.  His parents are forcing him to move to Texas.  Unfortunatly moving to Texas will ultimatlely destroy Tom's life.  He has alot of things going for him in Utah.
The town he is moving to is very small with few people to talk to.  The town has no sports teams for him or anything else to do for that matter.  Please take a moment out of your day to sign the online petition at http://www.petitiononline.com/txasux/ to help this poor soul.

Thank you for your time,
WeaselLord

P.S. If you can, I would appreciate it if you would spread the word to anyone you can.  Again, Thank you.

O_o This was kinda forced, but I'll sign it anyway

I'm sure Tom's Parents will let an online petition stop them from moving.  _sweat_

I signed it. It probably has about a 1% chance of working, but that's still something, eh?  ;)

True there is about as much chance of this suceeding as me being trampled over by a heard of rampaging donkeys while I'm swimming in the north atlantic ocean. But everything is worth a shot, and I thank all of you for trying.

Tell him to deal with it. If his parents want to move, nothings going to stop 'em. I just had to move from CO where all my friends are to CA and I was pissed, yeah, but it's a part of life. He needs to learn to freakin deal with it.

And boy, I swear to god, I oughta' beat you for all that crap you said 'bout Texas.

Look, if you dont want to help just leave.  Don't get all mad at good people just because you didn't think of this seemingly good idea.  Maybe you could have saved yourself with a petition, maybe not.  We're trying to keep tom here and there is nothing you can do about it so unless you want to help please dont say anything.

thank you

Hey, apologize, I've just had a really, really bad week. But there's someting I tried, and it wasn't some petition. I had set up living arrangements and everything, but my mom is the most un-reasonable person. Maybe you should try that. If someones got an extra room, lend it too him. But you guys can't whine about it. If it happens, it happens. Apparently, you'll still be able to talk to him though, so it's not like you're not gonna keep in contact.
But the fact that you said all that stuff about Texas means you've never been to the cities. Just the panhandle, where it's... quiet, is a nice way to put it.

So again, I be da sorry. And you should try finding a living arrangements, if his parents are rational people.

I can't blame a guy for not wanting to leave his life behind, but I don't think that asking a lot of people online to sign a petition is really the right thing to do. I for one am not in any position to judge if he should move or not, and I don't feel comfortable signing something I don't really understand.

Tom, if you are serious about not wanting to move, the best thing for you to do is confront your parents about it directly. I know you've probably tried that. I don't mean whining, I mean seriously. Get a list of the best reasons you want to stay and ask them if they have any of their own. If your parents take you seriously as a person and their son, they'll at least listen to you.

Ultimately, my guess is that they have their reasons for wanting to move and you'll have to just accept it. It's not the end of the world no matter how bad you think the town you're moving to is. I've moved like   6 times in my life, and have always found my place. You will find yours.

Not necessarily. My friend managed to convince his mom not to move.
