You really don't bump a topic like this. If someone has something to say, they'll say it. If not, it dies.

Just how does anyone know that these people felt this way 75% down the jump? It's not possible! Unless they had a voice recorder or something, but that would be destroyed on impact! My point is, this is a lie.

My brother was in DAF, a drug rehab center, for a while, and during that time he met a lot of people who turned to drugs because of depression. The opinion of everyone who got over it was that their depression was a big overreaction. Several of them also said that depression medicine was nothing more than something to get them high.

The ones who said that it was an actual disease were also the ones who came back to DAF a week later because of another overdose due to their depression.

Really, the main reason people defend it as being a disease is because they don't want to "cure" it and admit that they overreacted and need to get a better grip on their lives.

That's a load. Some believe it to be a disease, while others believe it to be a conscious decision created by stress and is not an actual disease. Suicide IS the act of a coward. It's just like lying, if you keep it quiet and go the easy way, its cowardice. Yet if you can own up to it it takes courage. Facing up to your problems head first takes much more courage than slitting your wrist or jumping off a bridge.

Suicide is an act of running away from your problems, not facing them. Some people need to understand that there are many people that have it worse off. Some people kill themselves over a pitiful thing like, "My parents won't leave me alone! They keep nagging me aboiut little things!" It's running away from problems that makes them commit suicide. Not every is strong, but everyone should be strong enough to fight off suicidal thoughts and despression.

I am a person who is often depressed, but the best way to  let pain go, is writing. Poems, stories, songs, whatever. I leave all my pain in a piece of paper, and there it stays. It is a way of discharge, you know. Using piercings and stuff to show that you are in pain is not my way, really, although I like heavy metal, gothic rock and stuff.

Do you have the guts to say that you suffer for other ppls problems more than you suffer for your own problems. REgardless of what it is, when you are in pain, it always seems to be the worst pain in the world, you canīt even think about the world itself. During pain, all you see is y-o-u.
In that situation you simply canīt get a grip of your mind because your body wonīt let you! Its in your f.ckin head! My cousin had anorexia, related to depression, and we always told her "Gilr, you are as thin as a skeleton!" and she would always say "No iīm not! Iīm fat canīt you see?". She wasnīt a sick-wannabe, her mind wouldnīt let her see the reality; what she saw was a result of her traumas!
Now, your head wonīt let you move on, you NEED medicines as a hope to get better (and idiots that take medicine to get high are as much idiots as ppl who take any kind of drugs, so they do not fit this speech), your suffering just wonīt stop and you are forced intoītheir actions...you donīt do it because you want.

Well, you see, depression IS a mental disease.

But these days, a lot of teenagers, when ever something doesn't go their way, they become sad and SAY it's depression. Dude, teenagers suck.

Also, I'm sick of hearing people say depression is an emotion. Its not! It's freaking sadness that is similiar and often mixed up.
