Concept Sketch [Colours added]

Ok...so new sketch. This one doesn't have as funky a pose because it's mostly a costume thing, as well as to just get the look (this is my first time drawing her). Tentative name of the character is Kaarina. She's a pirate/gypsy type person, so I've made her costume very gypsyish (if that's a word). Her weapon is a pike which I made to look sorta like a compass (will fix the lines on this when I ink).

It's nice. Like the pose and the proporitions are pretty good. That's a very wicked weapon, too.

Her hair does seem a bit lopsided though, like she's tilting her head to the left but she's obvious not, and her legs are both pretty thin and very uncurvy. She seems to totally lack knees. If she's young (about 13 or so) than that might be okay, but she doesn't really look all that young to me.

The knees are okay, in my opinion. It's nice, but I don't like the feet. They seem too small. Also she is missing fingers, but that is most probably because it's a concept sketch. (easy fix: Mittens! )

Sweet... but I have to admit, Pirate and Gipsy... that was a wild mix, how did you make that one out?
anyways, I liked it, you could improve the legs and her face (the cheekbone is very odd, try to make them more even.) I think that a pair of knees and biggerish hands and feet should do the trick, I assume that you'll add fingers aswell when you ink it.

Here she is. Bigger feet and all. I'd draw in fingers except she's conveniently wearing a glove and making a fist (guess what I really stink at drawing).

The name I've decided on is Kaarina Rose. Kaarina being a form of Katherine and Katherine referring to Hecate, who is associated with the underworld (bit of a pun here, since underworld in english also refers to crime). Rose comes from the compass rose (which can be seen behind her and is also used in the design of her weapon).


And erm...I thought of a gypsy pirate when...not really sure. I just thought I'd make a gypsy, then thought it'd be neater if she was a pirate.

Yeah, hands, feet are good in height, but still they are a bit short. And a small tip: If you want a girl gypsy, don't forget to give her big round earrings (be inspired by oracles from movies and stuff ).

It does look better now, but there are still some details that you didn't improve:
the cheeks are still not even...
the feets are abit too small for her body
the hands like kirby said are abit too small.

Maybe you should leave it at that...

No, I changed it. The pic is originally big and I resize it to fit here. I didn't shrink it as much as the other, but I did change it.
