rap used to be an expression of one's self, like poetry to music.

Now its all about the gangstas and the "bling". Nearly every song is about "my bling", "my money", "my bitches", "me, me, me, look at all my material possesions... oh by the way I grew up in the "hood". By "hood" I mean suberbia. I was shot and have killed people... in video games on the latest consoles that my family was able to afford. I hate my parents... especially my mother... not really, they are great people and raised me to be a gentleman...." ... The very definition of poser.

There is absolutely no talent in music anymore, rap, rock, or otherwise. Anyone with a computer and the money and knowhow to use a "decrapulizer" can make an album. Very few new artists can release a CD and give a live performance with only a fraction of error in the pitch and tone in their singing. That is why people like whats-her-face (the chick on SNL) resort to lip-syncing.

Nah, rap sucks anyway...

The most annoying things in the world (musicwise) are boy bands, rap, nowadays R&B (or anything done by hot women, I just like the women there...) and country.

Boy Bands *shivers* I hate NSYNC and the Backstreet Boys. Also the Spice Girls, they suck.

Indeed> A friend of mine said he wanted to do something band like after he graduated and I was just joking around and said "If you can get a guitarist that can play 3 random chors over and over, a drummer that can randomly play his drums, and a lead singer with spiked hair, your set. Whats sad is.... that's true.

Indeed. '39, Killer Queen, 7 Seas of Rhye, Fat Bottomed Grils, Princes of the Universe, Good Company, Seaside Rondeveau, lest we forget Bohemian Rhapsody and We Will Rock You. Take your pick.
