You just don't get it... I am trying to make a point that my game is going to be HARD. It's not for the little child who just picks it up and says something like.. "Oh, I love how easy this game is! I'm going to play it once and get bored with it because it's so insanely easy!" NO WAY! I want my game to be ludicrously hard, for example Xenosaga is well known as being one of the harder games out there. I don't wan't some pathetic excuse for a game, too easy to want to play it again. It will also be hard so you can savor the awesome ending I have planned. I WAS USING THE CAR THING AS A REAL LIFE ANALOGY! Do you think it would be possible for you to shut up and get your facts straight for once!? Sure not every game can meet your standards.. And I for one, do not care! Your game might be great, but just because it has pretty looks or things that might entice other players doesn't mean that you can just come down and post insults to other games! Get a life. Either give CONSTRUCTIVE criticism, or do not think about posting in this topic again!

...Sorry if I went a little overboard, but I stand by what I said. :badboy:

Well put. Sorry Meis, but you're being a real bastard. Plus, I like a good  game, but not one without fun. He has both. Poor graphics don't mean bad game. Alien Hominid has (admittedly) poor graphics by today's standards, yet it's one of my favorite games. Or Katamary Damacy. It looks like a lump of coal, but I can't put down the controller when playing it! Honestly, grow up and point out flaws while encouraging others to do better.

Actually, a little of both.
The guy with the hair sticking 4 feet out of his forehead creeps me out.
Instead of a one-hit kill, have like, a combo where he does that attack, and you end up on the ground stunned, nearly dead; then he sweeps with his other hand and kills you, with a tiny chance of escaping. That would involve more skill, which is what action RPGs are all about.

Yes this is exactly my point! I am not looking for "Is it pretty?" or "Does it have all this nice stuff?" I'm looking for "Is it fun?" Graphics are on the bottom of my list of concerns...

I would honestly like to do that, however, letme make my point again... I want my gameto be hard(trust me the 1 hit kills does work to provide LOTS of entertainment!)

-Update-
De-RTPing is now complete (This applies only to maps. Characters will still be RTP at times unless I feel like it.)

*Clears Windpipe*

Ok, I believe I just wrote "I don't care about how hard you want it to be" or something like that, and your entire explodsion had that as the main backer-up. I was merly stating how stupid you sounded by saying "In real life if a big thing hit you, you'd die" and then you are completly contradicting that statement with "I've got monsters, magic, and a lving thingy that doesn't have it hands attached to it's body." If you wanna make a hard game, go for it! I really don't care about that, just that thing about the hand flatening someone in real life statement was one of the dumbest comparisions to use in a game I've ever heard.

I know 1 hit KOs are fun, look at contra or the AirStrike arcade games, and again, I DON'T CARE ABOUT THE HARDNESS. I'm just pointing that out a THIRD time so that you don't asplode again.

Contradicting yourself now, eh?
I was just trying to say that he is big, he is strong, and he can easily kill you... And give a reallife example to help clarify. If you can't understand, then sorry... But don't think that I was saying my game was going to be realistic... Would you rather me use a boulder or an elephant as the example? Now, back onto topic...

-proof of un-RTPness-
I used a chipset from Bluhman's game to do the un-RTPification (Bluhman you will be credited) But I think it is a great improvement from the old Windmill Hill.

But, alas, the difference is that Contra and etc are actually FUN. Oh yeah, much better looking Windmill, but you still didn't use the cliff pieces like they are supposed to be used.

As I have said before, Graphics are my least concern. I was planning to redo it anyway once I completed the game.

Note: That little thing near the windmill is a Gremlin.

Ok... this really pisses me off. You all say that there are these great games with crappy graphics that rule. Guess what, they do rule, and they still do, but they almost ALWAYS used that top-notch graphics that were avaible to them. You saying graphics arn't your concern or that a good game doesn't need good looks is just your way of being completly lazy. Good games need good looks to completment them. No-one is going to look at a game that has crappy graphics and think "OMG, THAT GAME IS SO GOING TO BE BETTER THEN (insert random good graphiced ABS here, like God of War as an EXAMPLE) , SO I'M TOTALLY GONNA BUY/RENT/PLAY THAT INSTEAD!

Here's how it is: One hit kills is just your way of being lazy and not programming HP or debugging the get hit only once system
Graphics is your way of being lazy and not taking time to make the game look appealing
Saying that you do what you can with avaible resorces is your way of being lazy and not going out and finding something better to work with.

BTW, is this for XP, because I couldn't play it on 2k3

*Slaps forehead*

Meiscool, we all know that you're in the right and want to prove a point, but there's no point getting angry about it. Find something better to do with your time.

Darkflood, the game is getting better, and you have to remember that Meiscool, being more experienced than you, is trying to help.

1: How couldn't you play it? I made it in 2k3.tell me what the error message is.. I honestly don'tmind if you go into my game with 2k3 and look at it.

2: I didn't say I wasn't going to have bad graphics, I said that I was going to redo the graphics last. Save the easy stuff for later.

3: One hit kills are there to add to the amounting difficulty. I will say it again. My game is going to be hard, yet entertaining. If you don't like it, don't post in this topic.

4: Dude, you seriousley need to chill out. The reason I got angry lasttime was because I had been dealing with jerks all day and had a killer headache. Please do not say that having only so much at my disposal is being lazy, I only get internet when my brother is at work and that is not often. Otherwise I have no access to get better things. I try, I really do try, but You honestly have no idea of how little spare time I get in a day.

5: He might be trying to help and I thank him for that. But he doesn't need to be a jerk when doing so.

Alright then, you want me to give you a link to a super cool chipset site?

Plus, I was only asploding on you becasue you asploded first, but now that that's clear, I'll quit capping letters.

And also, if you want a hard game, why don't you try making something like Gaulent (I totally spelling it wrong) Galunt... Ganlet, something like that. It's an old arcade game where you were constantly swarmed by about 15 monsters at a time. You only had about 5 hits worth of health too. All the monsters were one hit kills (meaning no matter what you hit them with it killed them) but the shear numbers that they came at made it hard. You wouldn't have to put a lot of work into the AI, and bosses would be the only real programmed monsters... just a thought.

Oh, as to 2k3, I downloaded, unzipped etc etc, but when I went to play the game, it never showed up in the chose game thingy.

Actually, I think you should credit Mack and Blue.
Its only right considering that Bluhman didn't MAKE that chipset  _sweat_

and I agree...One hit kills are no fun.
But unfortunately, even though I have 1 1/2 years' worth of exdperience, I've never tried a system like this. But I DO know that somewhere on the net you can find help to change the one hit kill thing.

Making a game too difficult will drive many players away. That's my main reason for not even considering your demo.

@Meiscool: Gauntlet mate..Gauntlet :D

Well, it has to be a little easy at first... I'll try to fix the download link. and I'll have demo 2.0 (Un-RTP'ed and the boss in there)

Done and Done... But Bluhman did have some ideas that I liked.
