The Ryne Saga

This is basically my team's new project, 'The Ryne Saga'
Don't worry about the Mapping, this is just a quick test map I threw together real quick.
As you can see from these first screenshots it uses a Weather/ Time System and is ABS ready, hence the HP Bar which is soon to have it's looks altered- tis a wee bit large and ugly right now. The ABS will later allow for Allies.
The plot has been written, but dteails will not be posted until later, as some parts are due to change.
There's more information on my forums- but not that much more than there is here. Besides, I don't know what the rules on advertising are here.

Umm, I don't see a screenshot :-p, why don't you upload it somewhere else and link it here so we can see it, I don't think the upload function is working yet.
Anyway, please post what info you have. Since its not set in stone yet, you'll still be able to change it a bit, so a good way to go about that would be to post what you have right now, and let people give their opinions on it. It may help you with what needs to be changed or not. Plus then we can get a feel of what the game will be like

WOOT! ANOTHER ABS WITH ALLIE AI! I hope yours is as good as mine. And yeah, post what info you have and etc. Charas won't allow pictures at the moment, so you'll have to use photobucket and etc.

Prepare for one long post! There'll be new screens, plot details- spoilers will have a warning, don't worry, and profiles of the main characters thus far.
First, I'll introduce the characters.
Vadd Ryne
You play as him at various stages of his life at various points in the game. He's the hero of the piece. He's in search of a cure for his dying mother- but finds much, much more!
Vadd's Parents
Loving and caring towards Vadd, these were the ideal parents when he was growing up, however, his mother's dying and his father's missing. Prompting Vadd to take action himself.
'The Man With the Scarred Face' (Zhyge)
This is the main villain of the piece, responsible for the catastrophic mid point of the game (see below for details).
Now the new screenshots, depicting the very basics of the opening and showing the Caterpillar System working. In these screens, everything other than the ChipSets were created by me, the CharaSets, even the System Set were all made my me.
Now to explain these screenshots.
SPOILER
OK, the first screens are actually from several years ahead of the start of the game and depict the mid point of the game. This will be explained later- but it leaves for a much more interesting opening rather than cutting straight to Vadd's childhood.
END OF SPOILER
We cut to a snowy Winter's day in Vadd's childhood, him and his Mum hear his Dad yelling at someone and a striking sound. Vadd goes down to investigate and finds his Dad has fought and killed a guard, the same as those in the first screens. His Dad explains briefly to him what a 'Tech Head', or 'Techie' is.
Here is a more in depth explanation. In the world Vadd lives in there are two types of people- those who live quietly in the wilderness, believing in tradition and religion, using swords and fists as their weapons, and those who live in large cities, believing in science and technology, they prefer to use guns and tanks to do their fighting.
Naturally, those people do not get along and fight when they see each other, hence why Vadd's father killed the man.
The two head back home only to find Vadd's Mum has collapsed.
SPOILER
This is the start of a long and terrible illness that will put her through immense pain in the coming years.
END OF SPOILER
That's where the screenshots end and where I continue.
LARGE SPOILERS AHEAD- DO NOT READ PAST THIS POINT IF YOU WANT THE PLOT TO BE A SUPRISE WHEN YOU PLAY!
OK, so two years, Vadd has entered his early teens and his motherhas only gotten worse. At his wit's end, his father decides to go out in search of a cure. Vadd begs him not to go- but he does anyway.
6 months pass with no word from his father, Vadd decides to pick up his Grandpa's sword and go out there himself, leaving his Mum in the care of the mentioned Grandpa.
Naturally the game plays from there as you search for the cure, with various side quests and sub stories that I won't go into right now, until the very interesting mid-point.
The mid point sees Vadd find a lab in a Tech Head city where his Dad had supposedly entered, and follows after him. He there discovers his Dad has been working for the lab the past couple of months- they've promised him a cure to Vadd's Mum on one condition, he works for them to create ... Bio-Warriors!
In true cliche style, the Bio Warriors break free just as the father-son reunion takes place. This is what's happening the other side of that door in the opening. Vadd's father makes an emotional apology before he is killed by his own deadly creation.
'The Man With the Scarred Face' (Zhyge) enters and proclaims that there is no cure, and that the world will be ravaged by the Bio-Warriors.
Vadd rushes home to find his house has been burnt down by Zhyge's men- his Mum and Grandpa burnt to death. Having lost everything to Zhyge and the Bio-Warriors, Vadd swears to avenge his family ... By any means neccessary!
Hence, the second part of the game begins with civil war and anarchy across the streets, the traditional and modern people constantly fighting and the Bio-Warriors killing at will.
END OF GIANT SPOILER
Well, tell me what you think!

I read through the spoilers, I don't think you had to go quite that far, but oh well. Yeah, some of my comments may contain spoilers, so if you don't want to read any spoilers, please don't read the rest of my post
Alright, beginning is good, illness has been done before, but its not one of those big bad cliches, so you should be fine with that
Bio-Warriors, they just sound cliche. I suggest giving them some cool and original names, It'll help.
Mid-point - having the house or town of the hero burned down and his relitives killed is a very bad cliche, when used at the begining of the game. In truth I don't really mind it in the middle of the game though. The problem I have is that the mother dies. I know you have a new objective during the second half of the game, but I believe the first objective should be completed tworeds the end of the game as well. I suggest keeping the mother alive, then sometime tworeds the end of the game, play the cure somewhere in the plot.
I think you have a good basis for a game, and as long as you can play the story and such well through the game, I think it'll turn out great
Good luck with finishing it!

Screens are to small. I even copied the URL and still couldn't make them out very well. On must be a snow town, and then other a machine factory or something, but that's about all I could figure out. Oh, and I like vadd's hair.

I hosted the screens with ImageShack and used their [IMG] tags ... I wonder why it's not worked ...
[Spoiler Talk]
And as for keeping the mother alive- you'll have more reason for vengance if she dies.
Still, I'll take it into consideration. And it's true that the home getting burnt down is a cliche, but seeing as it's a consequence of your own actions, it isn't that bad a cliche- if that makes sense.
Oh, and naturally, I won;t call them Bio-Warriors, I'll think of a better name for them first, they're just basically Bio-Warriors, so that's how I'll describe them 'til I get a better name.
[End of Spoiler Talk]
