Probably the easiest way to fix that would be to have two Common Events, one with the key input that turns some switch ON and the activation switch OFF, then the second event, which would be activated by the switch in the key input event, would execute the dashing code off, then turn the first activation switch ON and the switch for that event OFF.

EDIT: Tried it out, and it seems that that method fixes it.

Doesn't seem to work for me...

EDIT: Nevermind, your method still doesn't work, but I made one where the paralell process event pauses for a few seconds.

It should look like this. This is from the dash system in my game Pact and it's practically flawless.

That was great! I liked how you put in the humor. I look forward to your next demo.

hmmm...Needs more salt...
nice screens, but they're a little bare. Try adding some flowers, or extra patches of grass on the outside.
and some varying grounds in caves.

Yes I know. I'm okay with a harsh critic unless their reason to criticize me is crappy.

Well, here's a few tips from me:

First, your plains areas are fine, better then fine in fact. They could be a little bit more compacted with detail, more flowers and trees and etc, but over all good.

Caves, this is pretty common. Most people will put huge chasms in the cave and a few spires that jet out. By the looks of things, and I can't tell if this is true or not, you only put spires where you have an event or a place to go to. But remember, you can always put a spire there just for the hell of it, rather or not your character can jump to it. And also, instead of using the tile to paint the edges of the cave walls, go through and use the seperate tiles. Adds less squariness.

Demo Ver. 0.2 is OUT!!!
« Reply #26 on: November 26, 2005, 06:35:49 AM »
Hooray!

Here's the now fixed version! Huzzah!

Features-
-Goes up until you reach the arvil tavern
-Counterattack system tragically removed, but instead replaced with a charge attack system.
-Demo-end screen added!
-As shown in the screens, a bit more jumping involved, climbing down tunnels, and dodging falling boulders.
-Osdray now has another special skill, though you might not acheive it within the timespan of the demo.

Fixes-
-Fixed the run-bug

Questions that were asked; not very frequently, though, but worth mentioning-

Q: OMGWTFBBQ!!!!1 1 M00v Sl00! U suk!
A: Alright, calm down. To move faster, simply tap the shift key once to start running around!

Q: Hewwp! How do I use the charge system?
A: 1: only one character has the charge system. You might not have that character. Other than that, all you need to do is select the charge option from the battle menu, then wait a certain ammount of turns (By doing something other than attacking.) Then, when you feel like it's been long enough, attack, and a released attack will be launched at the selected enemy, dealing great damage!

Have fun!

A suggestion...

I like the dash system, however I think it would be better if you couldn't dash forever and ever. Make it so after a while you return to normal speed and have to wait for your dash to erm... recharge.

That would be good for like an are where you have to hide alot and it would stop people from trying to run away from every encounter possible.

I downloaded your new demo, but you start out with yourself saying "And that's how the cookie crumbles" or something like that.. Then it says the end and takes you back to the start screen..
