Is it wrong?
« on: December 04, 2005, 09:16:48 AM »
I thought my recent problem should be put to the test.  I recently decided that a statutory rapist should be murdered.  I won't be doing it but I told my friend Xha (who's done it before) and he is now going to.  Should I try to stop him (and go against what I believe should happen) or let him do it?

If I stop him, the guy gets away with it completely, since he did it to a family member the police won't ever figure it out.  Oh, and all of you old school members here know him.

But I won't say who he is in case I decide not to stop Xhane from doing him in and someone tries to stop Xhane or get Xha arrested.

What should I do?

Let me put it this way: Do you want to have a friend in jail just for revenge?

Revenge is allways a bad option. Especially murder. But Trev, you're a smart guy. Can't you think of a way to maybe, set that rapist up so the police catches him for something else? Or maybe get him back a different way? I just don't suggest redruM. Only if he murdered someone. Then it's an eye for an eye.
So Trev, use your brains and search your heart. You'll know what to do.

Drace....dude, you just said something that I never ONCE thought of all night here.  Set him up.  I could INDEED set him up.  I know someone at the NYPD...

But Xha is crazy, he might kill him anyway.  I'll run the idea past Xhane.  So taht he might not KILL the guy.

It is not a human's place to judge another. Those who think that they are more effective than the courts have no place in our society.

Think of it this way, if you're friend goes off and murders this guy, even if it is because he's a rapist. He's nothing but a criminal himself. People should never take justice into their own hands, it gets messy and mixed with personal feelings. If you really want to see this guy get his justice, find out a way to prove him a rapist.

Um, there's other ways to get this guy.. get one of those 'street lawyers' for the girl.
If that Xhane guy doesn't even know the guy, it's pretty stupid of him to kill him. Umm.. yeah. Getting your friend in jail, and depending where you live, the deads, because of something you think is wrong.. pretty shitty of you.

It's definately not worth going to prison for (or dying for, as MrMister said).

statutory just means age, not that the girl was forced. its more intricate than it may seem. if it wasnt stautory, id say go for it.

Is a jury not  group of humans judging another?

Yeah, see I agree with charaman.  It's so weird.  I mean imagine this little girl telling her future husband that she lost herself to her 18 year old brother when she was 13.  But I told Xha that the police were alerted and he backed out.  He scares easily.

I need to come up with a plan...

It sounds like a family affair. Statutory is consentual. Therefore, I see no problems. It's your problem in the first place for telling him to KILL the guy.
