FFTA was a great game, but I just wish it was at least a bit more difficult. I don't like killing bosses in a few hits. >_<

 Buit only humans.

Not that I'm complaining. Moogles aren't made for battle, thei're made to be sold as plushies.

In order of teh 1337ness, to me at least,

9, It was the only FF to have me hooked in the intro.
6, Incredible story, wonderful chars, intuitive magic system and the most demented clown ever.
10, Great story, I like the new battle system and the music was great.
7, I hated it's overhypedness and I know there are better games, but it was still an excellent game.
5, It's story was lacking, but the job system more than made up for it.
Tactics, The awesome story and great gameplay.
4, An okay story (don't kill me, please) and lacking graphics, but I still love it.
1, A classic masterpiece.
2, Another classic, I just loved it's leveling system.
3, I've never played it to the end, I never really got passed the intro, but what I saw, I liked.
8, "meh" story, I didn't really like the chars, but Junctioning and Drawing were what made it a good game.
11, <_< I'm too poor.

Personally, I liked the Xenoseries (Xenogears, Xenosaga) and The tales series better than FF.

Don't hurt me...

That's one thing I liked about FFT. It was hard at many points. I mean, FE, Advanced Wars, ect, were rather easy to me. FFT was what I liked, moderate difficulty.

I like most of the FF's I've played. The only one I don't like was 8. All the characters where the same in battle.I mean there limits weren't but when your just doing plain fighting they can all do the same attacks and magic. Also I hated how they forced to go out and find stuff to make your weapons.

In order:
FFT
FF7
FFTA
FF9

I loved FFT's story, it was truly epic, and the (at the time) unique battle was what really caught my interest. Since then, I've been hooked to strategy games of all kinds, and have been infatuated with similar stories of grand proportions.

FF7 is truly something to behold: a game that spans a massive 3 discs, has what I consider to be the best music from the series, an undeniably original and captivating story and setting, unforgettable characters, and so many side quests and secrets (for the FF series, at least), I couldn't put the game down.

I originally bought FFTA out of my love for the first Tactics, and I can say that the only letdown I felt from the game was a weak story. Unfortunately, that placed the game in my third-place spot. I loved the improvements in the battle system, but the world seemed a bit small, the landscapes a little less breathtaking, and the difficulty to be a bit less daunting. It's almost my favorite, though. A very close tie for first.

FF9, to me, returned to the roots of Final Fantasy, and had some of the best and most brilliant characters in a long time. Vivi is still my favorite FF character ever. Also, the skill learning system still holds a place in my heart.

and scarface larry, how on earth can you judge a 1992-4 game (someone please correct me) on graphics!?

My favourite is actually... FF2 :P

Well Leon, maybe he ment like lacking cool eplosion effects in cutseens and stuff. But, there wasn't much a difference from FF4 and 5's graphics anyways.

I never played fft for a couple reasons.
1.I only have seen the case once in my life at a pawn shop for $20 when I only had $10.

2.I now live in a place where games that are good are impossible to get unless I go on vacation.

Final Fantasies have been a passion of mine ever since I played FF7 when I was about 7... ah, memories...

In order of favourites;

1, FF7 -- Some say overrated. I think not. Especially for the time it came out, it had an amazing storyline, characters, secrets etc. I mean, when this came out, storylines were nowhere near that well developed... and chocobo racing. Gotta love it.

2, FFX -- Has a lot of good and bad points. Lack of world map cost it its chance at being in first place, but on the plus side good voice acting (imo), nice characters, amazing atmosphere, transcendent music track and incredibly brilliant emotive scenes. And of course, for the more suicidal among us, the challenge of beating all of the Dark Aeons (without Zanmato -- don't be cheap). Took me ages...

3, FF9 -- Pretty much what everyone else said. Really good soundtrack too - Protecting My Devotion being a highlight, as well as The Dark Messenger. Chocobo Hot & Cold was an amazing minigame...

4, FF8 -- Why did people complain the junction system was too difficult? I honestly could never comprehend how people can find it difficult... very good FF. The whole Orphanage plot device is a very good, emotive one. Biggest flaw: Disc 4. I mean, it makes sense storyline-wise to not allow you back into towns, but it sure as hell makes it a lot less fun. Needed more sidequests, also.

5, FF6 -- Extremely nice. Many characters allowing for diverse teams and a long game. 2 World Maps too -- amazing. Kefka was a bit stereotype though, not that any of the other villains weren't back then. The eight dragons as secret bosses are a bit on the easy side, but hey...

6, FF5 -- Nice and fairly challenging at places. Not an incredible amount of characterisation, but 3 World Maps are amazing. Plus, the Big Bridge music rules. Omega and Shinryu were fairly challenging secret bosses.

7, FFX-2 -- Here's where the quality drops somewhat. Very disappointing - but it all becomes clear WHY Final Fantasy always starts with a whole new world. As the whole world was already introduced to us, it felt more like an "expansion pack" than a game. The whole Lenne/Shuyin theme was quite good, but compared to the other FFs... A Thousand Words was an amazing track, as was Demise (vs Shuyin). The Via Infinito is challenging, but very tedious.

8, FF1 -- Nothing in particular too wrong with this game, just due to its time it cannot compare with the others. Would have been incredible for its time though. NO SECRET BOSSES!

9, FF4 -- I didn't really like this one... I found the plot quite boring to be honest, and the characters the same. Cecil and Kain were about the only interesting ones, and Cecil's White Magic is useless as he only learns to Cure2 as I remember. Challenging FF, though. Bahamut was challenging, Asura also.

10, FF2 -- I hated the level up system. Just because of it, I found this one of the hardest FFs. A big challenge the whole way through.

Meis, FE is easy but have you tried the harder difficulty modes? Fe7 (Blazing Sword) which is number 1 for gba is very easy unless you're playing on Eliwood's Hard Mode or Hector's Hard Mode. The older games were much harder...

Well, there we go. My contribution. I consider myself somewhat of an FF pro :p

Yes. eBay is impossible.

FF1 sucks if you aren't 6.
FF2 more story oriented I guess not great.
FF3 Fuxxin amazing, Onion Kid is the best class.
FF4 Good characters and fights.. it's pretty good.
FF5 Worst execution of the job system besides 1, but at least it's in there.
FF6 Better story than all of it's predecessors, good characters, Ultros was funny.
FF7 is overrated because the cliche characters appeal to little kids. Tifa perpetuates negative body images, and Aerith is like Mandy Moore's character in A Walk to Remember.. you know she dies, and you can't wait for it to happen.
FF8 UNDERRATED, because those same little kids who fell in love with 7 couldn't handle a slightly more complex game. Awesome card game.
FF9 Even awesomer card game, great characters, although they seem a little shallow at times.
FF10 Worst voice acting award goes to.. Ugh, can't Yuna piece together a God damn sentence?! Blitzball almost redeems this steaming pile, but the repetitive orb puzzles make me kill people.
FF11 Oh boy, I may have spent the last 4 hours getting together a group to kill this dumb f**king dragon, but at least we finally got enough people! WHAT?! EVERYONE HAS TO LEAVE?!??!? NOOOO
FFX-2 Whereas FF10 was for girly boys, 10-2 is for girls. Story doesn't fit with the 10, and they shouldn't have continued it. The summoner becomes a pop-star, f**king COOL.

FFT Good story because it's complicated ;) Awesome classes. An unnessacery but cool none-the-less option to persuade monsters and make them have babies, like Chocobos which can act as mounts for any character. The shiznit, son.
FFTA I was hoping for a port. I was disappointed. All these gay freaking dogs and lizards in my group.. so when I see 'Red Mage', I get excited, but, OH WAIT, not for humans. Then I get to decide where locations are, oh neat. It's only propositions, and they are worse than the ones in FFT. Actually, worse than the ones in Suikoden Tactics. But that's a story for another day.
FF: Mystic Quest Dumb story, dumb fighting, dumb everything else.
FFLand Fun on a bun! I want to beeeee... a robot.
FFAdventure If I'm not mistaken, the English version of the first game in the ___ of Mana series. Points for that.
