Transparent backgrounds
« on: April 30, 2006, 04:11:28 PM »
I have a few animations to make and it'd be a whole lot easier if someone could tell me of a program that can make backgrounds of images transparent.

I don't NEED a link. You could just tell me the name of the program.

Adobe photoshop/ imageready.

i usually prepare everything in photoshop and then animate in image ready, but imageready can be a stand alone editor.

Never mind. I found a patch for Paint Shop Pro (the program I used before) that allows me to cut stuff without freezing. Thanks for the help anyways.

EDIT: The patch didn't work.

I can't find any the programs you guys suggested. X(

You can't find Photoshop or imageready? You are not looking hard enough.
Hey, I have fireworks, too. I have never used it though.

What? 100 pages of google searches isn't looking hard enough?

I could really use a link.

Photoshop's hard to find since it isn't freeware, but any advanced image editor should be able to do it just try some of the freeware image editors at download.com.

Or you can do it the illegal way and use www.limewire.com

Limewire isn't illegal, downloading trademarked files is illegal.

You would think so, but no. Paint shop is THE MOST ADVANCED IMAGE EDITOR OUT THERE....but it can't clear a background. XD.

Then obviously it isn't the most advanced, if it clears to white.

I used to have Paint Shop, now I got PS. Its not the most advanced seeing as it fails to compare to the abilities of PS. One thing Paint Shop can do is save in over 50 image formats...some don't even have a purpose anymore.

Download eMule. Connect to a server (any Donkey server or Big Ban 11) and search for Photoshop. BAM, gotcha.
