This is a concept screen with everything I was talking about. Now, it has Meis's falling leaves. Those FF5 trees were a real challenge to work with. Comments?

I think it looks nice but what would you do to make it look more "jungle-ish?"

To make it more jungle-ish hmm.....I don't know maybe some vines or alot of mushrooms and stuff. ( Try to think of the Amazonian Rain Forest)

Right now it just looks like a complex forest. I like the trees though, I might have to do a map with that type of tree to see what it is like. Very nice BTW.

EXO, that's pretty good, but I do think everything looks a little too... Perfect, if you get my meaning. The sea and the cliff thing are too even and symmetrical. Remember that in nature nothing is perfect symmetrical. Try making the edge of the sea wavy, or making the cliff look more weathered. After all, if it's at the sea's edge it's going to look very rough and eroded. The house looks good though, and that map has a lot of potential. How about some crabs or seagulls?

I have my own problem. This is the Ruins of Iridor, which is quite a prominent location in my game. Only thing is, it's supposed to look as though it's been there thousands of years, and at the minute it just doesn't look ruiny enough. Can anyone recommend how it could be better?

(By the way, the events in the middle of the map is a statue)

Drag: You should add more difference. More broken walls, dirt, just stuff to make it feel more ruined. Here are some examples:

http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c105/Meiscool2/dfb35f05.png

http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c105/Meiscool2/db0cdfaf.png

EXO: Not a whole lot to say. It's ok, but it has basically no detail.

About: Just add A LOT of plants. The Rudora plants would probally work nicely. The problem with that map, is that jungles are normally bright green with a lot of weird plant life. Yours is more of a dead forest or something.

Check this out, look specifically at the transition from water to cliff. It has more of a curviture to it than what I had before making it look more natural.

Yeah, Dragonium, I noticed that from the beginning. But that's the only hill type that fits and I can't format it well. Could you help me with it?

EXO, I don't have that charset, but I've tried something in one that I have. It's not too good, unfortunately, but you can see my meaning about the way the clif and sea should look less symmetrical.

And MIC, thanks. I'll bear that in mind.

I meant help me with the chipset. Not the texturing, I understood what you meant. The thing that's preventing me from making it better is that there is built-in grass around the hill bottoms, so I have to make more grass around it...And grass in a beach is...weird. Here's another go:

EDIT: Would someone, please, post some seagull and fish charsets? I think I really need them.

Much, much better. If you want, you could add shading, but I think that map is a huge inprovement.

I think what throws people off are the colors. You're right about jungles being bright Meis, but I try to stay away from bright colors. It clashes too much unless you put it together just right.

Oh, and the only real jungle chipsets out there are from SD3 or are Mac & Blue. I try to stay away from those. Reminice on how bad my beach/jungle SD3 map looked.

I put in a lot of jungle stuff. Don't worry about it looking crowded since it's not a real map. I ended up using Mac & Blue +SD3 anyway. _sweat_ I might end up putting in a bog or something with the trees coming from underwater. Comments to make it look better?

I don't really like Mac & Blue so that's why I didn't comment on the stuff above. Nothing constructive here. I'm sorry.

Now you're catchin' on. Looks better now.

If you wanted to make it look even better, you could use charasets of the water. Example Below.

YOU'RE USING A BUNCH OF LIGHTING EFFECTS AND OVERLAYS!

It still looks nice though. And I still want comments.

Heh, I edited my post to include comments. I realized after I posted that I forgot to say something.

And, I've only got 1 overlay right there, and that's for the tree shading. I have yet to add lighting... this is the slowest I've ever mapped a map before purly because of all the events it takes to make the water.
