Nope. It was an ok movie, but I just didn't feel too much for it... there's a dirty joke in there somewhere, but I can't quite find it... Anyways, boobs aren't always necessary, but they generally do show a part of the character (sexiness, the image of lust, etc.), and they're just damn fun to look at! *gets smacked by a female forum-goer who is offended* Ow, :blue-eye: my pride...

Spirited Away was one of my least favorite Miyazaki movies. But boobs make a good anime. It just does. If you don't want boobs, fine, but don't expect anyone to actually watch it. This of course only applies to traditional generic animes, the type I'm sure youre making.

You exegerate (sp?) the importance of boobs. Sure they're nice to look at but my fav anime's Trigun and it's pretty boob-less. If you wanna watch anime just for the boobs watch hentai, but if you wanna make a good anime focus on the plot and characters. (and of course there should be boobs, I'm just saying that it's not like "as long as it has boobs it's good")

I didn't cry, but I found it very entertaining. That is a good example of anime.

Notice something?

-No boobs
-Only mild language
-Pure imagination

It's an unwritten rule that boobs make anime great. Of course, as with all rules, there are exceptions. That's all I need to say.

Okay, I'll be honest...the first scene of R.O.D., when Yomuki is coming out from under that pile of books, I was all 0_o. Then, in the near-ending, when Nancy (or her clone) had her hand through her torso, I turned green with envy. I'm not serious about boobs, though. I'm okay with skirts, but not the chests.
I DON'T want to have to depend on boobs, because once you do, your anime is nothing but lame fanservice. Examples:
Aika
Burn Up Warrior
most Harem-anime

Also, I think that girls don't like being portrayed as big-chested (most of the time) idiots. Give me a girl with brains and no boobs--I'll be happier (or, like Yomuko, both!)

I like smart, middle-sized boobs girls. And I know a few so smart girls do indeed have boobs.

How 'bout an anime that involves shooting, and ghosts, and mysteries, and shooting, and more shooting, and fighting, did I mention shooting?
Oh, and shooting too.

Classic case of Rioshaw-itis.

(A bad american attempt to make an anime about war.)

An anime doesn't have to be japanese to be good. Megas XLR kicked *** and it was american. And don't tell me its not anime, because the style clearly is in that form.

Megas is a tricky series.  Don't get me wrong, I loved the show as well, but I don't think it qualified as an anime.  At the same time however, I do think it did.  I consider it a half anime.  An "Ani" if you will.  I felt it fell also in the same cartoony category as The Simpsons and Futurama.  Just my opinon.

I never saw Sprited Away either.

To those who haven't seen Spirited Away: I don't blame you. I myself didn't see it until last March. They gave it in March, however, on Toonami, along with Naalsca, and Princess of Mononoke.

Dang, I couldn't see any! A friend lended me her Spirited Away DVD--I don't have cable.
