Also moogles can fly in FF7, they can't do that in any of the other FFs. and as Mid said the chocobo design does change eventually too (although seldom).

First Moogles appeared in FF6. Also, in FF6-7-9 they were similiar. I didn't play FF8, so, I don't know what they look like.

Were Moogles in SoM first, or FF6?

Yeah, that makes sense. Chocobos have been with FF sence FF4, correct?

I didn't notice much of a differance in them  :|

But really, I think its cool that the games update their designs, it makes the indevidual games more unique. If they looked the exact same from game to game (even with updated gfx), I think they would lose their touch. The same goes for everything like that. Summons for example, if every game had shiva or bahamut going though the same motions, it wouldn't be as cool as if each game they had their own unique motions.

Actually, moogles were first in FF3j. Chocobos were first in FF2j. Research your stuff before you post it, dudes. :)

I also tend to agree with DB; if they didn't change, it would be like "Damn, more of the same boring FF stuff."

Shady fails for not seeing this.

Never played 6, 8, or 9

And I completely forgot about the mog mini game there. They don't have as big heads as in KH though.

I don't think they should change though. That's like Disney changin the look of Donald or Goofy for everything they do. (been playing KH, so sorry for Disney reference) I did notice that the chocobo's are looking more warlike - but I noticed that in FFXI mostly. The difference is, they're still a huge bird with yellow feathers, where the moogle seems to change its shape and size like crazy. I mean, the only 3 things they all have in common is the wings, the lil ball on the head and the white coloured fur. (If im wrong, its cause I haven't played a lot of FF's)
I think it ruins the consistency. I agree that the summon's should do different things though. But that is completely different. Ifrit looks the same in every game, just has a different move pattern (again, if im wrong i don't care)

O well, that's just my opinion on it.

They're only in a small patch of forest by Castle Kas'ion, as I remember. It's square-shaped... just like FF4's Chocobo Forests.

They don't add that much to the game... just a limited method of transport.

FF2 on Dawn of Souls was made easy. The original was hard...

Yeah, MIC, you didn't look hard enough.
"Final Fantasy II

Chocobos first appeared in the game Final Fantasy II. They were colored pink, as opposed to the later yellow, and were found at only one point in the game. Updated versions of the game for the WonderSwan Color, PlayStation, and Game Boy Advance recolored the chocobo yellow."
