I wouldn't say that I'm against remakes but I would say that I'm against the last kind of remakes.

Totally agree. I´m also against the "new stories using old stories names" like that crappy Simbad movie Disney made some time ago.

The only remake I'm looking forward to is Final Fantasy VII on PS3.  Specifically, that ranks Top 5 in my favorite games, and the graphics look similar to Advent Children, which one of the greatest things I've ever seen, not limited to movies.

Well it's not a remake, but I had an idea for a game. Its about 2 plummers, who need to save a princess from a giant turtle slash dinosaur thing. And they pretty much go through all these pointless levels to get to her, but hey, the levels are what make it fun.

So, they're actually gonna do a remake of FFVII? As long as they don't **** it up and throw story out the window for graphics.

No one knows for sure. They did say a while back they don not plan on remaking FF7. I want to know about the damn Chrono Trigger remake (Official) I heard so long about when that Fan remake got shut down.

They're not gonna remake FF7 on the PS3. They may re-release it like they did with FF anthology and FF chronicals, but they won't remake it. What they showed was a tech demo, not an actual game. They did the same thing with FF6 for the N64. They  made a tech demo of FF6 on the N64 with 3d graphics and stuff, but it was never made into a game, nor was it meant to be. The same thing will happen to FF7 (sadly).

In marketing, if an idea goes over well, they market it and sell it. If someone makes a good super hero movie and it makes a lot of money, people are going to use that idea again and again until it stops making money. If a movie did well in the past, it might do well if you remake it. So the reason there are so many remakes and stuff is because WE buy it.

Hell Yeah! Just recovered all my old rm2k/3 games from my 10 year old, broken laptop hard drive that had been formatted and had a new OS installed on it. Oh, and I did all of this from my phone. WIN

He mentioned X-Men and Spiderman. There are most of those cause, but they're SEQUALS, not remakes. Now Batman and Superman should hang up the cape already.

Also, the Wolverine and Magneto movies are prequels, not remakes.

The Omen remake uses basically the same script, a rewrite by the same guy. If that isn't just trying to milk all of the money out of people I don't know what is.

It's hard to explain really.  I suppose when the game was made, they focused to heavily on making the graphics good to distract the usage of similar plots that have been used in the other final fantasy's.  I suppose I felt since it was moving to a superior system, they should've played with the plot, rather than the graphics.  Granted the Sphere Grid was an interesting twist (That I actually liked), I just couldn't get into the game.  It was sort of like Inuyasha for me.  It started out slow, and when you felt there was going to be a rising action, or even a climax, before you knew it, it was slow again.  Also, it had sort of a Halo 2 feel to it.  When Halo came out, it was considered a god among games (From where I'm from.).  So when the sequel came out, a lot was expected from it, and it just did not deliver.

Keep in mind how I said:

I never really thought about remakes as a bad thing. No-one's forcing you to listen to/Watch/play them. >.>
