Well, anyone who merely knows me at this forums knows that I'm a soccer fan. And today, the World Cup begun at Germany, and of course I was watching through my TV.

I was kinda looking forward to post the results of the matches, discuss the games and... well... just some soccer about discussion.

Today, Germany defeated Costa Rica by 4-2, and Ecuador won 2-0 against Poland.

What do you think about the matches? Who do you think that will win? Which player will be the best at the Cup?

All that, bassically, is what I wanna talk about.

Costa Rica played well, considering the fact that it was expected for a Germany thrashing. Klose was brilliant. The original goal from Lahm was the best goal. Wanchope was excellent. Klinsman really needs to look at hios defensive teams. There is no way Germany can expect to be a World Cup Winner with a very poor defense.

I didn't watch the Poland game, however I am surprised to see that they were beaten 2 nil by Ecuador.

You'd expect that tonight England would easily win against Paraguay. Sweden will beat Trinidad and Argentina will beat Ivory Coast.

Still... I'm waiting for my monday night game. GO AUSSIES!!!!!!!! We are gonna beat Japan. Ole Ole Ole!!! AUSSIES!!!!!!

Holland is playing tomorrow. I'm not going to watch the whole damn World Cup. I'm only going to give some attention to Holland's games and last few big matches.

Weregnome's family is having this Sweepstake thingy where his friends and family have all put 2 dollars in and get a random team.
Who ever comes first gets $30, 2nd gets $20 and 3rd gets $10. Last place gets $4.

I got Italy (13) and Weregnome got Trinidad Tubago (sp, 42 or something)

He's hoping his team will lose. I want mine to win. SO GO ITALY!

Wow there was some thrillin matchs today:

England just beat Paraguay, something that surprised me. I expected them to thrash paraguay. England 1 Nil win.

Trinidad did the unbelievable, they drew to Sweden! I was so shocked. Who would have thought the new comers could have pulled off such a feat. It felt like a loss for Sweden.

Argentia beat Ivory Coast 2-1. That was a very good game. Crespo-the legend- scored of a nice set play, and so did Saviola. Drogba got the goal in the 81st min. Ivory Coast, in the last 25mins, looked very dangerous. They attacked and had quite a few shots on go.

My tonight predictions:

Netherlands will beat Serbia. They have al,ot to prove, after Australia drew to them.

Mexico and Iran will be tight. I would presume a win from Mexico... but who knows.

Portugal should beat angola

Well, I watched the whole match between Sweden and Trinidad & Tobago, and I must say that T&T's goalkeeper ruled. I can't believe how badly did Ibrahimovic play, I had very much hope on that guy.

About the game between Argentina and Ivory Coast, I was a bit dissapointed with the second half from our guys. But Ivory Coast did a fine work, that Drogba is just unstoppable.

I didn't watch the game btween Holland and Serbia & Montenegro, but I learned that Holland won with a really closed 1-0.

Unluckily, I watched Portugal 1 Angola 0... what a poor match. Angola did the best, and Portugal didn't really deserve to win. To tell you guys the truth, I bored myself to death.

I hope that tomorrow's matches are better.

Most Dutch people thought of it as a not so good match. They will have a tough job against both the Ivory and Argentina.

And if they don't get beat by then, Brazil probably puts a halt towards them.

Didn't watch the actual match dude, only care about the short summary of Nederland 2's Teletext.
