What Movies to See?
« on: July 08, 2006, 07:55:37 PM »
I saw Superman Returns and I saw Pirates of the Carribean 2 (I hope I spelled that right). Both were good movies for what they were trying to do. Is there anything else worth seeing?

Can you give me movies from this year to next summer? The only movie I'm interested in would be the new Transformers movie. At first I thought it would be corny, but based on just the trailer, I fear they will do it right.

I wanna see the new Spiderman movie when it comes out. It has Venom. I REALLY WANNA SEE IT.

There is a new high budget Jesus movie coming out about his birth this time.

Any recommendations? I don't just want to see blockbusters. I'll see anything as long as it's good.

Recent movies are crap.  In my opinion.  Most are just remakes or copies of other movies.  Perhaps I'm just saying this because my movie selection is limited to comedy's and actions mainly.  Scary movies now-a-days are tired and predictable, or just plainly no scary.  And well, comedy action, and scary are the big three.  And comedy these days are basically stupid jokes, or people trying to be funny.  Action movies...there just aren't that many anymore.  So I say whip out your old Monty Python movies and watch some good entertainment.

Silent Hill is good, I liked it. Might I also recommend The Omen 666?

Superman... Hm...

Well, since there are both naysayers, and supporters, I'll say this: The movie was decent. It was very dramatic. Things were very elaborated, and well... The entire movie was too epic!? On the other hand, the actor who plays Superman is perfectly pleasing to the eye (My only gripe with his actor was that he wasn't muscular enough. Otherwise, he has a very good face and whatnot.) The movie had a sort of... Comedic feel to it. Lexy is a bit more comical than menacing. Just watch and you'll see.

I'd say that if you're not a Die-hard fan of Supaman, then I'd say that you should watch it.

I really didn't like the new Pirates movie. Most of it was just entirely random crap that didn't seem to have anything to do with the story they were trying to tell. And it's a mean cliffhanger. Cliffhangers aren't cool.

Meh.

I liked Mission Impossible 3. Better than the second one at least.

If Silent Hill is still out, I'll go see it. About the Omen, I've seen the trailers and stuff here. Does it have another name in the US? I'm pretty sure it's just called "The Omen" (Even though it's a remake of the classic horror movie).

I might see Click. Maybe.

And about Superman...

I think Superman himself is boring. He's just too corny to me.

They actually made him seem less corny in this film. They put in a lot of wierd Jesus comparisons in the movie. Plus they made his superpowers like flying look great onscreen. (Especially when you see him fly in the home-camera parts. So Bluhman, I get what you mean about the too epic stuff.

Let me warn you know, if you did not see Pirates of the Carribean 1, you will love the sequel. If you DID see the first one, the second will kind of piss you off, or at least this is what happened to me.

EDIT=
Didn't notice you Saikar. I agree with you comepletely. It's honestly the biggest cliffhanger I've ever seen.

What I dont like of superman is that people try to make him some-kind-of-perfect idiot.
I would prefer something liek Spiderman,he gets good damages, scars and all.

I haven't seen pirates yet (seeing it on monday). But I heard that the dirrector encouraged the actor who played jack sparrow to make up random and funny crap, which is a pretty stupid thing to do. And about the cliffhanger, when they first made pirates they planned on making 3 movies of it, so yeah, it was mean to have a cliffhanger, but they meant to put whatever content they left out in the third movie I'm guessing.

Superman was pretty stupid. He's just too good. Spiderman and all the other super hero movies are kinda cool because the superheros aren't invincible. Superman, wtf, since his only weakness is kryponite, that has to be in every plot, and it gets very predictable and stupid. Its kinda like playing a game, but you use a gameshark and make your char invincible, sure it may be fun for a little while, but it gets old very fast. Plus I think that movie focused mainly on a relationship, and the actual evil plot was just a small add-on.

I don't have any recomendations right now.

The only 2 movies I know about and want to see is Spiderman 3 and Eragon. Spiderman doesn't come out for another year. I heard about Eragon 2 years ago or so, they were suposed to put a trailer on X-3, but that got pushed back to superman, and that got pushed off to something else. So I'm guessing that'll be a year and a half or two years before it comes out.

By the way, from the looks of it, the Spiderman movie doesent even have venom in it. It just has Symbiote Spidey. They coulda tried harder on the costume.
