Surgery
« on: October 17, 2006, 11:10:48 PM »
Last Friday (Friday the 13th, go figure...) I had gum surgery.  My gums were all poofy like, so they had to remove some.  They froze my mouth all the way up to my nose and burned the gum tissue off using constant electrical impulses.

Burning tissue doesn't smell nice.

The weekend was okay, yesterday it started to hurt.  Today I woke up and the it hurt a lot (the dressing fell off yesterday).  So I didn't go to school and slept.  Woke up at 5pm.  Yay sleep.

So, what are your experiences with surgery?

I've never had any. I really need some though. I had a bike accident when I was like... 10, and broke a tooth in half. My old doctor thought that there was a piece of tooth stuck in my lip, so I've got a lil' bump on the left of my upper lip.

Yeah, tooth fragments in your lips can't be good for you... XD

I've had my two front teeth broken a combined total of... 6 times.  So they're both half fake.

  • I made a fortune in toothpicks, but I lost it all in a fire.

Oh wow, I hit a car on a bike, too, and I broke off part of a tooth, too! Weird... Never had "real" surgery, but I have had a tooth removed. Actually, it was, like, two or three teeth, all of which decided to grow in the same space at once... The last non-permanent one broke to pieces when it came out, and the first one in line was oddly blackened... Don't know why... It also had my one and only cavity.

When I was maybe 5 years old, I had to have surgery on my nose because of some "foreign object" that got in there somehow. <_<
I still remember it fairly well. After I was done I got a teddy bear! :)

I've still got a small little gap on my nose from where the stitches were.

Ummmm when I was three months old they had to do some serious  surgery. Parents took me in saying I was eating much, some doctor said it was the flu and said they could take me home. Dad said it was a good thing my mom fed me while they were waiting cause I threw up on the doctor who did my surgery XD. She was like take that baby back in, and now I have some scar on my tummie. It's not really noticeable, so.. yeah.

XD! Reminded me of an episode of House, some little boy stuck a toy cat up his nose so afterwards he put a fireman (or army man) up his nose and then placed a firetruck afterwards XD.

My sister has smashed in my front teeth about 3 times now, so, as with Archem, both of them are pretty much fake.

Also, due to about a 2 inch difference in my leg length, I had surgery on my left (longer) leg about 5 years ago, to delay the growing process as to even them out a bit. I was asleep for the surgery, and was hopped up on morphine afterwards, so I didn't feel a thing. :) The cast was on for only a few weeks, but it really hurt when geting it off.

Otherwise, I don't do any sort of sports or anything, so I've never broken a bone. :D

I've done a lot of stupid stuff.

Sledding off a 35 foot drop into freezing water.

Riding on a board strung to the back of an ATV.

Tubing with an extreemly small tube.

Ect.

But I've never been injured enough to have something be broken. I had to go to the ER when I split my head open on a rock after the board flipped over, but other then that, I'm built of steel.

Yep... I'm a skinny white boy of steel.

This one time, I had this awesome idea. There's this huge hill at our elementary school, and we were sledding down it at like 2 AM. After already doing a bunch of stupid ****, we decide to put a little ramp at the end of the hill, park my friend's car in front of it, open the doors, and see if we could hit the ramp and jump through the car.

Needless to say, surgery was involved later.

Thank god it wasnt me.

Only surgery I've had was on both of my legs when I was in first grade to lengthen my hamstrings - I literally could not put my heel on the ground comfortably.

I would freak out if I broke my front teeth. I'd rather get stabbed in the arm or something.

I had a cyst removed from my cheek earlier this year. Having it wasn't fun, so I'm glad I got it removed.
At least it wasn't cancerous or anything.
