North Korea...
« on: October 18, 2006, 01:46:39 AM »
think they're gonna try and go for a world war III? It's kinda creepy that they've suddenly decided to make noise. They must be pretty pissed at the sanctions given to them, but wth is a sanction? I know the peaceful place ppl like to be in, but punishment?

Yeah, it's kinda out of the blue lately.  The sanctions that people are talking about are usually like economic sanctions, like embargos and blockades and what not.  I don't know whether we'll get to WWIII or not, that really all depends on China.  Right now China has control over N. Korea (china provides supplies and money for NK's weapons). It all depends on whether China supports NKorea or the U.N.

However, even if China doesn't support us, I don't think they'll go to war with us.  If this gets into conflict, it'll be U.N. vs. N.K.

who knows...

The US has over 6000 nuclear weapons in America. I think the government does not want to take over the world, but having a similar World Superpower sounds pretty dangerous. If we get rid of the nukes, then we'll be taken over...that sucks.

Listening to the media, it seems china is a bit scared of North korea. So I dun think they're gonna get support from china <.<

I think the american government realized how dangerous nukes were after the bombin in japan, but they wont get rid of it because one, where can they dispose of the wastes? and two, other countries will attempt to take over.

What you're thinking about is sanctuary, the safe place and stuff. Sanctions are "a coercive measure adopted usually by several nations acting together against a nation violating international law." (dictionary.com).

And no, I don't think World War III is going to happen. With as much heat as they're catching an as many nations that are eyeing them, they know that if they fire even one nuke, their *** is toast. We we unload on them, with or without nukes, Japan will unload, as will China, and Russia (possibly). So, they know that if they make a move, they're doomed. Their just rattling their sabres, trying to scare people and bully people. It's something they've done for years.

I haven't watched to much of the news on tv cause they sensationalize everything for ratings.  I've read the articles and stuff like that, and we covered in my Political Science course in college.  I don't know why China would be scared of N.Korea. They essentially have control of them. They supply their cash, weapons, and political support. Not to mention China is the only country on a par with US in terms of power. They could take Korea in a fight, and they would give us a run for our money (they got nukes too)

However, Kim Jong Il has gotten kinda out of control, at this point I'm not sure if he would listen to China.  If he doesn't it's gonna be him vs. U.S. and China... it would suck to be him.

America doesn't want to get rid of nukes because having them means power.  Other countries have to stop carefully around the US because the US can nuke them.  Metaphorically, it's like having a sheathed sword, and not unsheathing it.

IMO, North Korea just wants to be a power too.  They don't want to live in fear, so they get their own sword.  Testing the missles just shows that they may unsheath the sword if push comes to shove.

I just hope they don't bomb America.  Us peaceful Canadians live too close to the border. >_>

Exactly. Kim Il is just a midget with a Napoleonic complex. As he said, they're not dumb enough to do that. If they drop a nuke on ANYONE, everyone will take em out. Nuff said.

Even with a small army, there is still the chance of the bigger group getting their asses whooped  :p  Specially if the leader of the smaller group is a nutjob <.<. I was watching Oprah (I watch it once in a while) and they sent that asian chick to north korea as an assistant for a doctor, or something like that. She wasn't allowed to take her cell phone because they believed the u.s. could listen in on converstations. XD. It's believeable to an extent with the invasion of privacy Bush has been doing, but I dunno how I feel about that.

The north koreans really seemed proud of their leader, or maybe it was the fear of being shot on the spot. Who knows...

A lot of people in North Korea are scared. The vast majority of money is put into the military. Many people in North Korea are poor and without power and sometimes even food and supplies. It's ridiculous over there. And South Korea wanted to reunite... idiots.

Yay, let's all try our hardest to find a reason why Bush is responsible for his madness! Meh.

But it's North Korea. Against the US and the UN. Maybe if it was 2 on 5 the 2 could win, but when its us vs them it aint gonna happen. Hell, a few strategically placed nukes could wipe the while damned country off the globe.

Just a thought thrown into the air, what if they did. Maybe countries and what not would move and crash into each other? I mean, the land we're on isn't even connected to the sea floor and we're always moving.

Yeah.. Kim is a little insane, he shot fishers that were fishing too close to his private cottage once, he poofs his hair up because he's insecure about his height, and theres a lot of other stuff. But yeah...

Everyone with nukes realizes that if they use them, nukes will be used back on them. If north korea WOULD use a nuke, they'd be dead. Just having a nukes gives them power though.

Really though, who are we to say who can and can't have nukes.

.......Did you even take earth science? The reason countries are moving is because of the tectonic plates floating on the earths crust are shifting. Every landmass is connected to these plates, and the ocean rests on top of them. Plus these movements takes millions of years to occur. Its I believe an inch a year, and thats when its fast.

Um earth science was a bore <.< I was watching the discovery channel. WHICH IS THE ALL KNOWNING GOD. And it was said that we're technically moving. Aside from the plates or whatever.  :bee_wtf:
