I just saw today in my computer science class (we only have two people so it gets boring) that someone was selling the PS3 for $150,000 -ish dollars! Give or take a few hundred.

I highly doubt that.  500yen is only around $5.00CAN.

Why do people want the PS3 (and other consoles) EXACTLY at the launch.  Not only will it get cheaper later on, the first batch always has some defects.

I'll wait a very long time if I ever do get it.  Heck, I only just got a PS2 this summer.

Nintendo has a pretty good track record when it comes to the quality of their systems at launch... So I'd get one of their systems at launch. But not a PS3. And not at that price. Or at the current street price.

Yeah, there are a lot of losers out there that will pay quite a large sum of money to get their hands on an electronic devise.

It's our competitive side.. We're trained to out do each other in life. The ps3 is something everyone wants. So of course people are going to go crazy and get something before everyone else. It's just how we are.

I saw on the news yesterday that some people are risking their jobs and social lives by camping outside stores. One guy said:

"I took three days of work for this. If my boss finds out, I'm surely fired. But hey, this is the freaking PlayStation 3!"

FOOLS.

I'll enjoy my NES, N64, PS2 and XBOX360 till the prices are dropped to a normal level or till I can get a Metal Gear Solid 4 pack.
