Chipset trouble...

So I made my own chipset, using a template, saved it on 256 colors....
and made a map. (duh) well, I niticed an error on my chipset, a dot of pink where ther should be none. OS I opened it in paint and removed it, still saving in 256 colors. then I re-imported it, using a different filename, then I reset the tileset to use the new image...
but now my map is purple. every single tile, when put on the map, is purple. they appear normal on the palette, but purple everywhere else!!!! can anybody tell me what I did wrong???

Maybe the part that's supposed to be transparent isn't transparent, and that part of the top layer is covering the bottom layer. If this is the case, then import the tileset again and click on the background color to make it transparent.
