2007

You've all heard (or had the opportunity to hear) about the death of my gran earlier this year. Terrible thing. I still haven't gotten over it. My last grandparent, my grandpa, is in the hospital, and he's finally recovering from whatever got to him earlier. My mom's brother and two sisters came down from New England last week, and in the two-and-a-half days that they were here, they officially made into the worst week of my mother's (and prob'ly this family's) life (the first being the death of my gran earlier this year). They demanded money from us, demanded that we give them our dog, laid blame on us for my gran's death, treated us like scum and insinuated that we were trying to screw them out of an inheritance, and generally behaved like assholes. Just yesterday, my sister's as of now ex boyfriend left his cell phone in her room, and as she began snooping through it (like all girls do, apparently), she found evidence of what my mom put as "sneaking around with a girl" behind her back. My sister's crushed.

The year's been terrible.

Today, we're walking home from our bus stop, and we find my sister's ex waiting in front of our house. While we're outside, some other kids walking on the other side of the street begin having suspicious reactions to something along the sidewalk. I glance over and see something small, furry, gray, and white, resembling from a distance our kitten, Kit, whom we've had since a week or two before Christmas. I immediately alert my sister and her ex of the events across the street, and he goes to see if it's Kit, or just another of our neighbor's unlucky rabbits. When he returns, he's silent, and responds to my sister with a mournful hug. I start walking to where my brother gets off the bus. He's 11, and he loved Kit. I didn't want him to walk right past that. We cross over to the other side of the street, avoiding the corpse, and I tell him the bad news.

He's now crying in front of the TV in the living room, and my sister went with her ex for a walk. I've had about enough of 2007. The first quarter isn't even up yet, and it's already proven to be impossibly horrible for us. We're being forced out of our house by our "relatives" (those asshats), so in a few months, we'll have lost our house, too. I'm bracing as much as I can for what's to come, but with all the emotional stress that I've been building up over the years, I don't think I can keep my regular persona going anymore. The stress is heavy everywhere. I'm doing terribly in school now (I have a lifetime full of memories from the past month to thank for that), we're practically bankrupt, I'm beginning to fear that mine or my brother's suicidal thoughts might resurface...

The only thing good about this year is that we've managed, through hiding her at some friend's house, to keep possession of our dog. Now certainly isn't a time for atheism, so thank God him/her/itself that I can still have something to believe in.

I think I'll go throw up now.

If that were the case, killing someone else's kitten wouldn't help anyone. Especially the kitten.
But that's irrelevant.

Anyway man, I'm sorry to hear you're going through all of this. It's more than anyone needs to bear.

Probably the worst year of my life thus far.  Whoever said Senior year was the best year is horribly mistaken.

F'real. With all this crap going on with me, it'll be a miracle if I graduate this year. Senior year's hard enough by itself.

I thought my family had problems (Believe me it does). This is just...brothers and sisters acting like idiots. That wasn't meant to be offensive in any way to you.

Sorry man.

He's going through a lot of things that the uncool or unpopular kids go through (mebe a bit more, even), but he's largely blowing things out of proportion. I used to be exactly like him, but I found an outlet. I'm hoping he can find one, too.

Stupid? Me? Perish the thought! I'm just trying to get my swing back right now.

*swings awkwardly*

I think it's still a little early... Anyways, we buried Kit in the front yard about two hours ago. Hardest thing I've had to do in years.

Meh. Yeah, it sucks when you lose a pet. Escpecially one that you've had for years. By pet I mean dog, and by had for years I mean more than a couple months. Sorry to sound cynical, it sucks, but I think you're makin too big a deal out of it. :

Meh, different people take events differently. You can't compare someone's outlook on life to your own.

Best of luck with the future, Archem.
