Marchin' Band

What shows are you people doing?

This is ours.

Music of the Day
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LDx5HsqVHak
(the last song after they say the marching band name isn't part of the show---and this is not our marching band either.  Just the show we are preforming.)
It is so hard!  Its made 75% of fast 8th and 16th notes. ugh.  Why did I join as a woodwind and not a pit person?  Oh well.  I can do the 8th note runs slowly right now....

What are your shows?

The music is great!
Although your Color Guard seems to be off the majority of the time.
Your form is very nice, as with keeping it.

El Paso, eh? Not that far from here >_>
Where's the most out-of-town contest you've been in?

I'd post videos of us (marching season), but there are none online. Although there will be this year >)

I'm in a lazy marching band.  We don't do competitions.  We just do cool music and easy as hell but cool looking formations.  Drumline \m/

Sorry about the confusion.  Its not us.  Thats just the show.

Heh, our colorguard's much better.  We didn't have any seniors last year, so our colorguard just got quite a bit bigger.

Our band got smaller though.  We got a new director so some people quit. *stares at old clarinet section leader*

Sorry.  I just used the video to show the uh, show.

We are the DuBois Area High School Marching Band.
DAHSMB....i think I'll stick with saying the DuBois Marching Band...

Our band camp is early this year.  It starts the last monday of July.  Usually we have it later...

Farthest we went was Florida (Disney and Universal trip weeeeee!).  And we are in Pennsylvania.  So, 22 hours. On bus.  Not a school bus though.  We hate taking them 2 hours to the Atlantic Coastal Championships.  (heh, we only made 23 out of 25, but we went in 25th.  And that comp, most go down in ranking, we were happy.)

My school's marching band was pretty awful. We made up for it with about 17 different jazz bands, all ruled by geeks. One of my geek friends conned the director into letting them do a show with all anime music. ^^ It was great.
I loves marching bands.

lol.

Every single person in our high school has at least one friend in the band.  and our band and colorguard only has around 52 people.

I enjoyed it.

Band sounds cool, but being able to read music seems to be a requirement. :p

The band at my school wins a lot of awards, but nobody seems to believe them. I had my Algebra class on the floor above them. I used to tap along with the drumline especially, and a lot of the time they were off-beat... It made the class fun.

We used to be a Group 4 (double what we are now), but people stopped joining band.  Of course, the group we are in is a bit more competitive than Group 4 bands...

So, what are your shows?

Our show is a bit different than I vid I posted.  And the woodwinds have a wicked run that's at 180 ans its all 16th notes.  O_o.  I'll post a midi of what it sounds like, in the video band  its not loud enough to hear it clearly >_>.

It isn't exact note wise becuase I don't have the music right in front of me, but this is the right tempo.  and the right note length.  (Yeah...  I can play most of it, but my clarinet doesn't want to let the sounds out. >.> )

I never played in a marching band. I played in a concert band (sax for one year, then bass for 2) and the school's jazz band (bass for all 3 years it existed when I was at school)

Personally, I love playing in bands. I'm working on arranging my own band right now, finally got my friend who plays bass to jam with us, and after jamming my tunes, he decided to join, which was awesome :D So, my hopes are to get some shows soon...

I can't help but to think about those things the military has, marching bands...

But I guess that you are talking about a band in your school? If so then really, we used to have one but no one wants to play classic music, it's just rock and punk rock really...
