I agree with you about Hilary and the candidates, Zero, even you told me stfu, which was right, I'll continue to talk about the ideas.

Personally, I haven't seen much of anyone I can stand by as a President, though my ideas of a President is someone who actually gives a flying fsk about the country and it's people. Someone who doesn't say that he/she will do this or that just to gain votes, but someone who actually stands by what they say, not by what they say to gain favor.

Exactly. I don't want to hear how you served in the army because its the cool thing to do, or how you "Feel sorry for the people in New Orleans" when there was AMPLE time to evacuate, but they had elected a ****ing moron for mayor. I just want someone to come out and say what they will do, cut and dry. I don't need personality, I don't need likability, I want someone that will do their ****ing job.

First of all, it's been two years since Katrina. The government hasn't done what it promised to do but give these nasty trailers that MAKE people sick.

Plus it's a dumb fact to REBUILD in a place that can SINK!

No, its a hurricane, they're not like deer on the highway. They don't just jump out in front of you. Plus, evacuation, ie, government buses. Did you not watch the news before it hit. Where they showed prepped buses that he didn't send out? And no mid, most of the 'ppl' weren't poor. Yes, some were, but there were also those that were middle class, all of them with the ability to leave. The media just doesn't show the regular people. After all, how can you get sympathy by showing a middle class white guy?

they knew about it, but they didnt do squat about it. They thought it wasn't going to be bad, but BAM.

And poorness is not an excuse.

When Dean was about to hit Mexico last month, the worst-to-be effected place were quickly adviced and evacuated AND/or sheltered. Luckly there was no real damage as expected, but if Dean would've hit at his Level 5 greatness, only the physical destruction would've happened.

Edit: Of course you can say this is due to the awareness of what happened with Katrina, but still. IT SHOWS aldnalndflands

XD No you can't, because that wasn't the first time hurricane evacuations have occured. They've happened before Katrina, and it was something that should have been done but wasn;t.

I hate Bush. I hate him more than I have ever hated almost anyone else, since he started the damn war in Iraq, which, in the end, killed my brother. I hate only whatever son of a bitch killed him more than Bush. During Katrina, that dumbass played golf in California. The man can't even define "leadership" without ****ing up. How he's managed to stay president for eight years is beyond me, hell so is how he even got elected in the first place! I'm old enough to vote, but in the end I'm probably going to vote for someone who promises to end the war ASAP, and understands that ending it may not make us the most popular country. Honestly, I couldn't care less who leads this country, since, as of June 2008, I'll be an official resident in Canada. I can't stand the U.S.

So.... yeah. There's my rant.

That sounds harsh, but we've had worse days in history :(

I'm not an American, but until Sept 11, I didn't think there was any danger to us. I live VERY close to the Can - Us border, and even though NY is pretty far from me, and any major Canadian cities are as well, it put fear in my heart, among hundreds of thousands of other people.

I hope we can get over the fear, but I don't think that will happen anytime soon. You say worse things have happened in history? Well, I know a LOT of people say "Look at the Holocaust" and other things. Sure there have been worse days, but not really for America. And not so suddenly and without warning (to the common people, at the very least)

And it's also harsh to say that because, even though there have been worse days in history, people still lost loved ones. What if it was YOUR mother, father, brother, sister, wife, husband (and so on) that died that day. Would you still say "Boo hoo"? No, you'd remember their memory, and how those bastards cut their lives short. Those people did not deserve to die, what did they do wrong? Live in a good country, and go to work that day? How is that a crime that deserves their death?
