How to make transparency

I downloaded this charset but when i put it on my game it just appear with the green background, does anybody know how to make that disappear?

When you import the picture (efter you've dubble clicked) there will be a preview on the picture before you choose "OK" to procced.
During this moment you can click on a colour of your choice to make it transparent. In your case; the background.

So try it out, it'll work.
