Requesting an artist
« on: February 08, 2008, 04:10:09 PM »
Okay, this is a large request, but I'm hoping someone is talented and bored enough to take it up. I'm in need of an artist for Ember Sky, for portraits, preferably full-body. The Facemaker sets I was using no longer fit the flavor of the game, plus, they were crappy. If anyone is wiling to invest some time and artistic prowess in my game, I would be eternally grateful, and it would really help to get things of the ground with development. I can only seem to draw a couple of the characters decently, but even then, not decently enough to put in a game.
In return, I can critique stories, do wallpapers, avatars, and sigs, and generally be your best friend forever and ever.  :bend: Let me know if you can help, or are interested, and I'll get you the details. Sample work would be nice, but given how bloody desperate I am, I don't want to be picky.

I dunno what quality of art you're after. I'll scan a sketch in and you tell me if it's good enough... if so I'll do it.

If it's not, I won't be offended XD I'm not very good :p

EDIT: Well this is what I pictured your scientist gunman guy to look like. Thinking about it, I have no idea how I'd colour the things anyway, so maybe I'm not the best person to do this XD

Photobucket

EDIT EDIT: Oh yeah. i forgot to resize it. I'm having one of those useless days today.

Well, whatever.

Point me in the right direction. :D

Seriously, I personally think I'm your best bet. Give me something to try out.

I'd offer, but I think everyone here should know by now how much of a flake I am.

Looking back, I really hope your expectations weren't high. >.<

I probably do better on robes than pants.

Actually, if someone would be willing just to do FE style faces, that'd work too. The full-body thing was just an it would be nice.
I'll upload my little database of appearances and crap later tonight, when I'm on my laptop.

Thanks muchly for anything you can do. I tried making a Caolan once, but I didn't do so well with the style. Of course, for some reason I still use my shoddy attempt as an avatar at GW... ^^ I''m so silly prideful stupid.

Shite.

I dunno how tired I was that day, but you needed MSpaint sprites, right? Not drawings >.>

Okay then. Sorry about that XD

Here's the Arin base, if something doesn't look right, tell me. I don't want to keep making constant mistakes.

I like it, but it doesn't really fit Arin. I think he'd look a little older, and definitely less cheerful. He is, after all, the obligatory angst-ridden prettyboy. Being female, they are apparently a necessity ( I actually don't understand that at all... wait... *hides Squall avatar* never mind)

Right, while I fix Arin, critique Athair's base.

( I mean looks, not emotion. These are just bases, meaning I'll give them correct expressions later. )

Side-note: Caolan is taking me quite a while, it's hard to picture him in my mind for some reason.

EDIT: Managed to "transplant" another  face onto his, and this is what came out. He looks older to me, but I'm thinking the size of the head might dispell that illusion. :/

The Athair is awesome! Drop dead squee awesome. As for the Arin, now that I look at it, his hair's a bit off. Is there any way you could make it cover the ear a bit more?

I'll  take a look at it. Caolan's almost done, I just can't get the colors to blend very well. I either get a fourescent green on the coat or absolute white hair. >.<

EDIT: I finished Caolan to the best of my abilities, he is one tough cookie, so to speak.

Christophe was easy, just added glasses and the "stubble" to a given face, and edited the coat a bit. :D

I lengthened Arin's hair a bit over his ear.

I haven't finished Evariste's sprite yet, but there should be a description. These all look really good, except could Christophe's hair be more of a dirty blonde, and a bit shorter?
I'm being so damn picky.
By the way, do you want me to do anything in return? Wallpapers, site layouts, sigs/avatars... I'll try my hand. I'm so grateful ^^
