Control Issues

When I play or test a game on RPG Maker, none of the keys respond. If I go to the desktop and then go back to the game window, the game accepts it as if I pressed the space-bar, which is the only way to get through dialogue. Of course, I'm stuck once the dialogue is over because the arrow keys don't respond.

What is going on? How do I fix it?

How long has it been like this?

It could've been something that was installed recently or some files that collided and somehow changed the options for the maker?

I have no idea to be honest.

It's been a while since I've used RPG Maker, so I don't know how long it's been like this.

Did you accidentally make it so you start on a tile that's on the same layer as you?

A bit of a bump, but whatever...  Either way, it happened to me once while playing The Way.  I was grinding below the Phantom's Arm for about an hour when I finally decide to save.  Before I make it to a save spot, BOOM, Shift becomes moving right, down becomes enter, up becomes escape, left... well, left just stopped working. xD  In the end, all I had to do was restart my computer.
