The Foretold Conquest: A Seekers Story

Soul Seeker: Not much is known of them but they have records of them being able to control souls and use them in combat in various ways.

Umbra: Shapeless creatures that can form into anything they wish....the only way you can tell that an object or thing is an Umbra is due to the complete darkness of their appearance.

Storyline: About 10,000 years ago there was a great war. The war decided who was going to rule over the world, the Soul Seekers or the Umbra. These were the two major powers of the world at the time. Both of them used other smaller races for their needs but the Umbra considered them slaves. The Soul Seekers lived in harmony with the other races and they helped each other out. During the Great War the separate powers also used the other races to aid them in battle. The battle was beyond destructive. It ruined much of the rich land and destroyed monuments due to the battles. Many artifacts of the races and their history were lost in this war. Due to that not much is known of either of these races. It is said that the Soul Seekers emerged victorious over the Umbra and that the Umbra were banished from this realm never to walk on the world’s surface again.
   Now, in the present day, neither race is among the living. But it is said that one day a Soul Seeker would be found and that he would help the world vanquish the Umbra and banish them again if they were to ever come back. So far it’s been 2,000 years since the last Soul Seeker was recorded but there have been no actual records of appearance of a Soul Seeker or Umbra. With that said Soul Seekers could be walking among us without us knowing just waiting for the day that the Umbra would return so that they can vanquish them and make sure the world is safe from their evil yet again.



-Geo-
 A born fighter who uses his hands and feet in melee combat. He is very bright and loves to fight monsters to gain more strength. He has been living and training with his grandfather since he was born. He has always felt as though there were certain things he didnt know or understand. Little does he know that he would one day realize everything.
Element- Fire
Age: 19
Hieght: 6'0
Class: Soul Seeker
Weapon: Gauntlets


-Bills-
 A high class knight who guards the king and wishes everything to be right and just. He teaches soldiers how to defend themselves against a real threat in battle and he has guarded the king his whole life, since he was taken in by his highness. Bills never knew his real family because they were killed by evil beings when he was just a baby while the kings army was fighting them.
Element- Lighting
Age: 20
Hieght: 5'10
Class: Knight
Weapon: Sword & Shield


-Adama-
A wanderer, whos father was a well known thief who was executed by the king for trying to steal the crown. Now, roaming the vast plains, Adama takes any job for money and with his hatred for all royalty hopes one day he can meet the king who killed his father face to face.
Element- Ice
Age: 23
Hieght: 5'11
Class: Wanderer
Weapon: Bo Staff


-Gravin-
 A young warrior with an unknown past who is looking for answers. He lives in a village with his adoptive parents and does not know of his real family until he discovers the truth behind his heritage.
Element- Holy
Age: 21
Hieght: 6'0
Class: Guardian
Weapon: Great Sword


-Xander-
 A dark knight who was taken from his family as a child and forced to learn the ways of the fiends. Growing up he always questioned himself and who he really was or is. Not really knowing right from wrong all the time he travels and blindly obeys his "fathers" orders.
Element- Dark
Age: 23
Hieght: 6'3
Class: Fiend Master
Weapon: Dual Swords


-Evra-
A young priestess of the ocean who has an extraordinary potential in casting. Because of her well known casting she is constantly guarded by mercenaries so she isnt kidnapped by evil fiend lords.
Element- Water
Age: 19
Hieght: 5'5
Class: Priestess
Weapon: Staff


-Systems-

Sprite Sized Battle Characters

Night/Day System

Run & Jump System

Difficulty System- Easy, Normal, and Insane
The different difficulties make it easier or harder to gain stats and also give alternate endings and different secrets.

Point Leveling Up System- The more you do certain things the more certain stats level up Ex. The more you attack the more your strength goes up, the more you get hit your agility goes up etc.

Talk System

Kind of interesting... The faces remind me heavily of Fire Emblem... Are those recolors or just the same style? Really can't tell.

Prpl_Mage: dont worry ill finish it i have all the common events coded along with every item made and all the common battle events finished so i can stick to the mapping now and not worry about any of the hard stuff

psy_wombats: just recolors but im still deciding if im gunna keep em or make my own

Ooh, can you go into a bit more detail on this Resolve system?

Also, the heavy outlines you used on the overworld character sprites make them look out of place. Maybe try using a coloured outline, or Selective Outlining. :3

Difficulty levels? That's an idea. I'm not sure anyone would be too interested in the insane level though... Usually games have that because skilled people get more of a kick out of playing the game on hard, but this sounds like it'll just be more grinding between bosses. The alternate endings will have to be pretty damn good :p

Great to see this back. Let's hope you get it finished.

Ahhh the Resolve system... well like a basic limit break you have a bar that fills up and once that bar fills up your attack command changes to Resolve! but thast not all.... once you press on resolve you have a time limit of how long you have to press the combination of buttons at the top. get it right.... and you do the move!.... run out of time and your resolve is wasted.

As you level up you get higher level resolves as well which have different and more difficult combinations.

Ive actually been thinking of other perks i can add to doing the Insane mode besides different ending.

Im thinkin about adding a new character and one more level of Resolve per person

Any more ideas id be more then happy to hear em anyone

In that thin battle form the faces do look pretty good, though. It's only when they're speaking that it looks obvious.
