i'm sorry guys. but something happened. I don't know what. I was just using the computer, tried to send a file to someone. I opened the folder and it was blank. All my files are gone.

God damn that has to suck. The game looked nice from the screenshots I saw on the first page.

I'm sure there might be ways to recover it. See, if it was just casually 'deleted', then the files would still be available. However, they can be overwritten by future files that take up space.

Try looking up 'Recovering Deleted Files', as the sites I find seem to have some programs made to recover that sort of stuff.

Though a System Restore might work too... Not sure how that works entirely, however.

If she's wiped her computer and reinstalled the operating system I don't think system restore will work, but maby the program bluhman was talkign about.

But try a system restore or something, as others have said. I've been able to recover that sort of thing in the past, even with a screwed up OS.
And, for heaven's sake, everyone: make backups! BACKUPS BACKUPS BACKUPS. A USB drive can go for $15 around here, and CD-RWs are great too. Internet, not as much, but PLEASE back up your files to avoid the pain of restarting.

I tried a recovery tool...

it restored everything to the same folder, and unfortunately the maps from Wilfred the Hero overwrote my maps.
So I tried system restore and it brought back the folders but they were empty.
Then I tried the recovery tool again and it couldn't find anything anymore.
Phayre, I know you should have a backup but every time I tried to make one it corrupted my map tree data.

Did you post the game demo? Cuz you can get the files from someone who downloaded the game before your computer crashed.

Oh no, you didn't! Ouch, that bites. Um, did you send the game to anyone? Friends? Co-workers? Anyone? And a system restore wouldn't work because they don't affect your files(Vista). I really hate to say this, but if the game is lost, you deserve a big

Damn thia sucks so bad. This was the game i was looking forward too since i saw it. Maybe even more than i was looking forward to Fable 2. Hope you can get something back

It was a tough little while, especially after a note was left in my honesty box (see: facebook) about it...a girl who was convinced I caused all her problems in high school...but that's another story.  So there was the added factor that there is actually someone in the world who is willing to do that. Because up until now I figured that people may be mean sometimes but they still respect each others' work...especially artists. the person who did it was a fellow artist, which really disappoints me.

I put away all my sketchbooks, notebooks, etc, and just said "yeah this is it. I'm done"

But for a number of reasons...mainly that I don't think I could ever get over not finishing this after I've put so much time into it...and that Iw oudln't be able to live with myself if I gave up- I'm going to start again. It'll take a while especially since I'm in UNiversity this year...but I think it'll be worth it. So hold on tight everyone because this is still going to happen
