MIDI Question

I want to start making my own music and I'm curious about what programs the majority of you guys use. This is including all the catchy sounds do they come with the program?

I use Anvil Studio for all my MIDI needs.  Be they editting, making, or decoding cryptic messages implanted within the MIDI meant for only the eyes of James Bond @____@

I'm vury mysterious when I'm in my...mysterious mood.

I've never really seriously gotten into electronic composition myself, (I'll stick to sheet music thanks), but CakeWalk and NoteWorthy Composer are both options.

Anvil Studios is pretty good (or so I've heard)

There is Noteworthy Composer which does a very decent job.

There is Cubase (I think thats how you spell it...)

There is also FL Studio

um...

I personally use Finale (2003.. yeah.. i know ts a bit out-dated, but it works...)...

and there is also Sibileus.  Which is also a good program from what I've heard.

Uh... I don't know if I'm forgetting anything...

Really, it all just depends on how you want to go about composing things.  For instance, Finale uses a click method to put notes on the screen, when you have to press enter to get them on in Noteworthy composer.  For free programs try Finale Notepad (only 8 instruments), Noteworthy composer has a free trial, Anvil Studios is free.. I'm not sure about the others though.

As far as I know, Anvil is your best bet. There are some little annoyances you have to get used to, but once you know how to deal with them it really is the easiest way I know of to compose MIDIs. I've personally regressed from MIDIs to NSFs FamiTracker though. :p
