Mesmerize had its moments. It was not their best, but I still listen to a few of the songs on that album.

Scars on Broadway sucks, BIG TIME. Serj did much better (not SOAD good, still). I really expect Daron to come back to his senses...he's the most agressive one when the "Is SOAD coming back?" question pops up, he's probably center of the whole split...

To my understanding, it's metal with rap, grunge, or alt-rock influences. Basically anything that you wouldn't consider compatible with metal.

Or, if you take the view of many metalheads, nu-metal is anything that sucks.

PRecisely on the first statement, precisely...er on the second. Nu-metal sucks, Korn sucks. I take nu-metal for metal with rap (Limp Bizkit, for instance). As RAP is the thing that rottens this world, nu-metal is pure and revised SH!T.

If you wanna hear some metal, please grow a pair of nuts and listen to real metal with decent and talented musicians. (can't complain about Limp Bizkit's guitar and bass though, but the rest...)
