Final Fantasy 10 is the best game I've played in my life so far.

Disgaea 1 and 2 probably offer the most vast amount of customisation
in a game ever made. They both have great scores, I've played for
well over 200 hours on just Disgaea 1 and over 100 or Disgaea 2. It's
a grid-based RPG and it's amazing.

Dad recommends Gran Turismo. He played a lot of those semi realistic racing games.

Gran Turismo is about as realistic as you can get with PS2 racers. You'll be happy if you get it, but I'm telling you now, the driving school exams are a pain.

Although I love Persona 3, I'm hard-pressed to recommend it to you. It's got a lot of Japanese culture that might go way over people's heads if they're not that into Japan. The dating-sim aspects and battles can also get a little repetitive.

Keep an eye out for the Viewtiful Joe games--they're great, as a whole. Just stay away from 'Red Hot Rumble'--that one sucks. Odin Sphere is also incredible; the battles can get repetitive, but the story is wonderful (it belongs in a book, actually). The graphics must also be seen to believe. Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy is another one to look for; it's a First-Person shooter, but it's quite good. Also look for The Rd Star; it's a little like Smash TV, but it's a lot of fun. There's also Sega Genesis Collection; it has 25 Sega Genesis games on one disk. Just having Phantasy Stars II, III, and IV should be reason enough to get it. It also has Ristar, Sonic 1 and 2, three Golden Ax games, Virtua Fighter 2, Kid Chameleon...the list goes on.

PS: Star Ocean 3 IS good, as is Tales of the Abyss. Just be warned: there's a bit of lag with ToA.

*Enters queen of laziness* YEH, here's to being too lazy to read previous comments and deciding to throw in my own two cents.

Did anyone say Silent Hills yet?! Eh eh? Silent Hill 2 FTW as far as story goes, but Silent Hill 4 has kickbutt gameplay. And Silent Hill 3... Silent Hill 3 has Vincent. Nuff said.

Forbidden Siren=AMAZING. Endless hours of hair pulling but it's like the funnest survival horror game EVAR.

Galerians: Ash is awesome though I gots the feeling many would disagree.

Shadow of Destiny is one of my favorite games ever, period.

Okage: Shadow King is hilarious, the hilarity is enough to make up for the subpar gameplay, it's still one of my favorite PS2 games just cause of the interaction.

Oh loads mroe but I'm too lazy to think of anything to add.

Are my Okage: Shadow King fan detectors going off? Or are you relieved to find someone who agrees that the gameplay is just subpar? Or... BOTH.
